Yesterday I had a bookseller first: A customer came up to the counter and said this to me, “Can you help me find a book? I took a picture of your shelves and AI says it’s in there, but I can’t find it.”

Independent, local businesses using (and defending the use of) GenAI art is just baffling to me. If you want local support, support local. This means artists, too. Seems undeniably clear to me.
