In meadows, at the edge of the woods, and along roadsides, one often encounters an undemanding yet graceful plant: yarrow. While we most frequently see white or pale pink shades, nature sometimes offers more vibrant variations as well.
Made in early 17th century England, this lady’s cap features a beautifully detailed botanical design. The scrolling gold-work design forms compartments containing strawberries, honeysuckle, cowslips, a foxglove-like flower and the distinctive spiked blue borage flower.
