I keep running into people who offer their condolences for Mocha, or ask what happened. And every time, it means I play out that awful 30 minutes in my head over and over. I think the longest break I've had is 2 days. And I know people mean well. And people care, but it's so tiring...

I had a really rough morning missing Mocha. So I went to a cafe I don’t usually frequent to get food (no spoons to cook) and ran into another person offering condolences for Mocha. And like… I just… 🫥

The hard part right now is that it’s like part of me feels like Mocha will be coming back at any moment. Like she’s just been at daycare for a super long time, and I just need to pick her up. And once in a while the realization kicks in and it’s like a black hole is sucking me into nothing.

Walking last night, I came across a couple on their stoop with their papillon. The pup rushed at me, wanting attention. I asked if I could pet their pup, and they said yes. While petting him she goes "Where is your pup? You've got the little brown one that makes you walk fast, right?"

I got really sad because I was trying to go through and add any Mocha videos or pictures to a specific collection on my iPhone. And I only had 1100 videos and/or pictures Only to discover that it stopped adding anything after October 2024? So now I just feel sad and old

It’s worth noting that Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA did, and promptly pulled it from their stores. The FDA didn’t even name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves, and hasn’t issued a recall. Basically, Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA.

Taylor Farms, which supplies major fast food and grocery chains, was identified as the possible source of the cyclosporiasis outbreak Thursday.

I've been walking in the morning each day. Like I would if Mocha were still here. I imagine her walking with me, no longer stuck to a leash. Running around super excited to sniff everyone's flowers (and maybe chomp them). Running up, kissing my leg, and then doing a 'watch me, mom!' sorta action.

Mocha never did anything half hearted. She was all in, all the time. Be it a walk, playing, eating, or sleeping. She was always at a MAX And now I wonder if she was bc somehow she knew how short her life was gonna be and she was gonna LIVE it.

Today was the first day I woke up without my injuries immediately burning. Of course, after cleaning the wound again today (cleaning it daily), it's burning like the dickens. It is healing quickly. I feel cantankerous and not pleasant to be around. Zero art, only anger and angst.

We have fireflies lighting up the yard already! Also the little bats are having a heyday soaring around chomping bugs so the backyard barely has and flying pests. Dang, nature is cool.

I'm so scared. I think I startled a baby bunny that was resting under a tall dandelion stalk in my yard. I was out there hand cutting back the dandelions that were overgrowing my water meter and there they were. It's completely frozen in place. I don't want to touch it and make anything worse.

I witnessed my lvl 4 HS American History teacher completely crash out when the Patriot Act passed. We were reading 1984 at the time; like he had assigned for that semester for decades. This was his final year before retiring. Describing it as a ‘formative experience’ is an understatement

I remember when the Patriot Act™ was forced on us, and all the normies back then telling me off with "ur just being dramatic lol" when I'd point out how it was the exact "big brother" thing they'd spent the prior decade freaking out about. Same with COVID. This actually feels too big to ignore.
