´Ex-FIFA president Blatter joins those calling for boycott of World Cup in U.S.´ Sensible. I’m amazed anyone voluntarily flies to the USA anymore. The country is not governed by the rule of law right now.
I’ll be at Queens Law in a couple of weeks talking Labour Law and government intervention in work stoppages. Drop by or log in if interested in this stuff.
A madman is running the USA. No other word for a guy who says he’s prepared to invade friendly countries and destroy the world order because he didn’t get a trophy. Is there anything this lunatic could do that would make Republicans say enough? www.thestar.com/news/world/e...
Trump ties his stance on Greenland to not getting Nobel Peace Prize, European officials say
Trump said Saturday that he would charge a 10% import tax on goods from eight European nations because of their opposition to American control of Greenland.

He made up a fictional story about how York and its students are so afraid of him and his message that they shut him down. In truth no one at York knows who this Alberta MP is or gives a shit what he’s talking about. Typical Trump-style fake grievance nonsense from Conservatives.
I'm sorry, help me out here, but did this dingus go public about his event being "cancelled" when it was never booked in the first place? You don't get to INVITE YOURSELF to a university and proclaim it a free speech issue! www.thecanadianpressnews.ca/politics/con...

Why Canada needs better data on strikes, unions and other labour issues
Canada does a poor job of gathering labour relations information. In a period of rising inequality and renewed workplace conflict, stakeholders need better data.

I have sabbatical starting July 2026! I was planning to visit Cornell to work on various labour law projects, but you know, Trump. So no USA. Instead, I’ll be a Visiting Professor at Oxford and the London School of Economics during the year instead! So that turned out pretty excellent!
On a similar point, it is irresponsible for academics to schedule international academic conferences in the U.S. during the Trump regime. It is not safe for visitors. All conferences should be moved aboard until further notice. We can host them in Canada.
At this point, I can’t understand why any international traveller would visit the US Even if you think you’re not at risk, you could get caught in the crossfire of ICE gunning people down in residential streets or have masked gunmen storm your restaurant and haul kitchen staff away as you eat lunch
Talked to my 96 year old mom today, who lived thru Nazis bombing her town in north England as a girl. She commented on how she never imagined that she’d be living in a time when the United States was the bad guy threatening war all over the world, including against allies. Sad times indeed.
Professional athletes used to stand for something. Professional sports unions and leagues could be leading the resistance against Trump’s fascism and hate movement. Instead, silence and capitulation. Great article.

My submission to the Senate Committee studying the misuse of s. 107 of Canada Labour Code to crush the Charter right to strike: lawofwork.ca/doorey-my-su... In Brief: Stop it. It's an entirely inappropriate & undemocratic use of a statutory provision never intended for this purpose.
I can’t get over the insanity of Ontario Conservatives spending billions of dollars on a third highway, thru farmland, that literally leads nowhere! It just spits people out at Highway 400 where they join a two mile long queue to get back on the 401. There’s no other explanation but corruption.
