Once again, it remains dumb to me that the Virtual Boy games don't have a mode to play without using the accessory and just not be in 3D.

If you are a Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscriber who did not buy the Virtual Boy accessory, then the number falls from 23 games down to just 9. Don't own a Switch 2? That number is now 7 games. Not an Expansion Pack subscriber? Now the total is 5 games.

Looking over Nintendo Power's Top 100 Games of All Time, a feature they published back in 1997. Here are some facts ... 48% of the games are available on Nintendo Switch Online 23 of the 52 games not on NSO are available on Switch via compilations 29% are not available on the Switch in any form.
