Corporations are like a pond full of koi; they will frantically gather wherever you are sprinkling in the food pellets and fight all the other fish to get them. They will not learn to evenly spread throughout the pond. You cannot vote with your dollars. The only thing you create is further greed.
Make no mistake, I DEFINITELY intend to watch Coyote vs. Acme. But because it's something I honestly want to see, not because I believe there is any kind of moral imperative to giving money to one company to prove to another company that their executive is an incompetent buffoon.
remember, if no one actually watches this, zsavlov will think he was right to kill it.
My modest proposal continues to be that if any artwork gets written off for tax purposes, that artwork immediately becomes public domain. The public bought it; we own it now.
I'm not comfortable with folks saying COYOTE VS. ACME was "worth the wait." I'd argue the opposite. It was worth NOT waiting for. Warner Bros. shelving a whole film as a tax write-off, potentially forever, doesn't become forgivable if it's good. That's what the word "unforgivable" is for.
Little known fact: every Australian traveling abroad carries a huntsman spider for tossing onto any American that belches "ooh, throw another shrimp on the barbie" whenever Australia is mentioned
If you don't pay a high enough salary to attract good management, you end up settling for managers who cannot get hired elsewhere, usually for very good reasons
What’s a thing from your area of expertise (or special interest) that you think it would behoove everyone else to know?
*sigh* Yep This was Steven. I juuuuuuust couldn't see it
This is part of why it takes a long time for people to distance themselves from narcissists. You'll see them be absolutely terrible human beings to other people (sometimes even you), but other times they're so charming and interested in *you* that you want to dismiss all of the bad stuff.
I took a huge dump on this silver serving platter and I hope it inspires real chefs to cook me a 5-course meal
Don't try to justify posting AI by saying that you hope it inspires real artists to make it instead. Fuck off
I think this is the best shape I've ever been in
Got a Speedo for the pool party this weekend
I have tried and tried and I just cannot care enough about Deathloop to push through another day
No hate, no dogpiling, just curious. For me, it's Skyrim. Don't know why, considering it should be exactly my kind of game, but it just didn't click for me.
Check out this amazing paintover by @donryu.bsky.social Lemme know if you want to see the original photo
I saw someone refer to homeschooling as “trickle down stupidity.” Immediate addition to my lexicon.
it's always odd when "you should expose yourself to more diverse ideas" always means a certain kind of conservatism instead of like, Indigenous art, new fusion foods, math paradoxes, or the Dvorak keyboard layout
I gotta say it's amazing how much this has helped me with my executive dysfunction. Just find one little thing to do and then shit cascades naturally and gets you past the overwhelming scale of the project

*turns chair around* This game is totally worth $30, but you can get it for less now. Should you? If you like weird, supernatural stuff and/or want to experience mind-bogglingly branched out narrative paths that are all still somehow excellent, then yes, you do.
