The Art Brut reprint series (Yes, it'd been published before) is one of the ONLY books, in my lifetime of collecting, where I bought multiple copies of the comic for the covers. They'll NEVER be worth anything, but i enjoy the ones I grabbed SO much!😀😃

It’s October and time to celebrate spook-tacular artists with the #comicskycoverartists challenge! Day 2: Alex Eckman-Lawn Art Brut #1 (2022 — and a very good series!) #comicsky #comics

Am up to S2E1 of BONES—never did a FULL series watch. Well written, good acting, far as I can tell, realistic bone/body props. BUT!...they do TWO things TERRIBLY: Booth & Bones are always in a fake car w/rear projection. The projection is ALWAYS bad, & they physically shake the car WAYY too much.👇

Not only do I love that Cruise's movie flopped (b/c he belongs to a death cult that exploits children and destroys families), but that it was beaten by what looks like a movie that is a paroody of a thriller (but, nope, it's NOT a parody...at all) is really wonderful.

Post nicht verfügbar.

I'm now into the back half of #DoctorWho series 7. Two of the EPs have left, a new one came in; only Steven Moffat is the constant. That said, this change & the addition of Clara has given the show renewed energy! And, once more, Smith has altered how he plays the Doctor—for the better this time.🕐‼️

I'm now in S7 of Doctor Who. Matt Smith has again altered how he plays The Doctor, opting for a more manic Tenant-like Doctor at this point. The fact he, or the producers, can't decide how the character should be played is really indicative of the these seasons and their very uneven storytelling. 😕

Anybody want vol 1 of RACHEL RISING? Just pay for shipping. (Or, if you're in #NYC, you can come grab it anytime.) I'm looking to clear out a few books this season, so this is just the 1st... It's a gorgeous comic about witches hanging out in NE & maybe stopping killers and halting the apocalypse.

There was a job ad for an editor at the U.S. DEPT OF ED. on LinkedIn. One of the "REQUIREMENTS" was, & I'm not kidding, be "Religious" and "Spiritual." You also need to be in the military. (Is that legal!?) I reported it as discriminatory & it was PULLED. Ad has been rewritten on other platforms!

For the #HorrorWritersChat: I'm Keith, I lean into comedy, so even my horror stuff has tinges of comedy (less jokey, more wry). I approached my most-recent #Horror project about 2 people torturing each other like an angry romcom. Music? Classic Rock and '80s New Wave. And women that ROCK!

#HorrorWriteresChat Question One: “All the best freaks are here Please stop staring at me…” This week, we’re asking about the music of the night, the songs on Lestat’s playlist, and all that jazz… Introduce yourself, the horror you write, and your favorite music to listen to.

Shelly, from Maryland. Currently finishing up a serial killer novel set in Baltimore in 1891. I tend to use music functionally when writing. So, for example, I’ll listen to the same music my characters would listen to. Gets me into their headspace. #HorrorWritersChat

Hello #HorrorWritersChat! I’m Ell, I write ace horror & retellings of dark, weird, lesser-known fairytales. I love movie soundtracks and indie folk and pop. Currently have Rabbitology, The Crane Wives, Mollie Elizabeth, The Hound + the Fox, and Malinda on repeat. Need to check out Chasing Abbey.

This is incorrect. Ex.: Kermit & Muppets riding bikes in Muppets 3 was a secret for a long time. Also: We never got a LIVE Muppets show b/c Jim could NEVER figure out how to keep performers hidden. He even made GIANT Muppets. It was Avenue Q that realized Jim & his Carson appearances had it right.

Jim Henson was never precious about showing process. That desire to hide process came post-Jim. Henson wanted folks to see the art being made & know how it was done, because he knew he could sit on a talk show performing Kermit in plain sight & people would ignore him & look at the frog.
