#OnThisDay Aug 5 1851: Faced with mounting debt and settlers already pouring in, the last 2 Bands of the Dakota reluctantly sell their land in the "Treaty of Mendota." This also forces them onto reservations and opens almost all of the vast Southern Minnesota Territory to white settlement.

painting "View of Fort Snelling" by Sergeant Edward K. Thomas (1850) It depicts the military fort situated at the confluence of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rivers across from Mendota, in what was then the Minnesota Territory. Native Americans are in the foreground. Minnesota Historical Society Collections.

This is Brady. He gets excited to wake up his bunny every morning. Promised he would be a responsible pet owner, and we think he's doing an excellent job. 13/10 (IG: goodboyscann)

I have formed a parasocial relationship with the raccoon with short spine syndrome and which you were probably enjoying as a cute meme Forgive me he is my everything Jimothy I would die for you

A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!

I couldn't care less about TB's share price, my guy. What I DO care about is a serious problem in public health. Nobody wants to cooperate with authorities to find where outbreaks came from! Because the person/company/country that's the most helpful & finds the problem? ALWAYS GETS BLAMED FOR IT.

Since there's an ongoing all-of-society effort to protect Taco Bell's share price I am forced to ask, "REALLY GOOD" relative to what or whom? Which fast good company are you pretending to shame about their lack of product tracing acumen?
