Through community safety, education & advocacy, we're working to end traffic violence, solve the transportation funding crisis, & build safer, more complete streets for all Oregonians.
Last week, the Secretary of Transportation sent a letter asking Congress to restrict almost all federal transportation funding for bike lanes, and instead fund bike lane removals. This is just the latest escalation in the administration's war on bike lanes. Take action: bikeleague.org/action-center

January 2025: Grants for bike safety projects are frozen. Grantees are asked to remove bike facilities from proposed projects to get funding.
November 2025: Chairman Graves of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee states, "We’re not going to be spending money on ... bike paths or walking paths [in the next transportation bill].”
March 2026: The administration tried to remove DC’s 15th Street bike lane (spoiler alert: we won the court case protecting it) as a test case to restrict bike lanes on National Highway System roads.
July 2026: Secretary Sean Duffy says he’s defunded “DEI bike lanes” and put $1.7 billion towards “real” projects
