It don’t take skill nor luck to never amount to much
regretting the sympathetic posts I made about Royce White's mental health 15 years ago.
Aside from the knock to the ever-dwindling music journalism ecosystem, I just think about what this all means for smaller and mid-tier bands. If you're not already huge, who is going to cover your album? Who is going to post about your tour? Who is going to…
“Music publications BrooklynVegan, Alternative Press, Revolver, and Goldmine have been gutted by parent company Veeps... Nearly all the staff at each publication appear to have been laid off yesterday. Veeps, which is now owned by Live Nation, acquired the publications in 2024 or 2025”
Friends and family always act like I'm pulling off something impressive when they ask how I find new music. My answer is mostly the BrooklynVegans and Stereogums and once upon a time Pitchforks, but their numbers keep dropping.
This is some bullshit right here. Brooklyn Vegan has done incredible work for a mind-bogglingly long time. It's never enough for the freaks who own the companies.

Music publications Revolver and Goldmine have also been gutted by owners Veeps and Live Nation

“Would you face greater gun control knowing it’d be giving away one of our freedoms?” Hell yeah I would, sign me up.
Hell yeah I’d give it up and I’d give up kavishj611’s too.
Guys like this don’t realize that they are the freak
Aaron Rodgers spoke out about Dr. Anthony Fauci. Sophie Cunningham spoke out about transgender athletes. Caitlin Clark chose not to weigh in. Three different approaches, one common result: criticism. Steve Buckley on how athletes can't win on social media: nyti.ms/3Sa9A7D
@actioncookbook.com I swear you wrote something on the ridiculousness of school communication apps once, but I can’t find it. Does this ring a bell? Or ping your PowerSchool?
in the Québécois version of King of the Hill (“Henri pis sa gang”), Boomhauer is named Papineau and sounds like this
I’m suspicious of how much I trust the dealer I bought my car from at this point, but their service side fixes things more quickly and accurately than the independents I’ve been to and they’re gosh darn nice.
Uptown Girl’s playing in the grocery store and now my whole day’s ruined.
Oh my god the dietician who is telling everyone in the White House to only eat steak and sauerkraut doesn't wipe his ass.
This is pretty much all I admit to doing.
On social media, a broad consensus is that you can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential. How did it become mandatory to demonstrate perpetual growth and progress online?
I've read that the Red Sox and Guards are the favs in the AL since proclaiming the Yankees the favs earlier today, so I guess this is a tough stretch for the Sox with those three and the Rays.
I hope that Mune hits four home runs to Fenway's short right field foul pole tonight.
BMW when Sony called with the idea: oh thank you kind sirs. we are but a struggling start-up desperate for funds. just trying to make cars that we hope people enjoy, good sirs. thank you for believing in us. of course we will advertise your fine film. to all our drivers
This sucks ass. When I start my car I want to be able to put my foot on the pedal and drive off. I dont want to watch an ad. A distracting ad. Right in the middle of my console. Again. This sucks ass.
It is classic White Sox to tout a guy hopefully returning from injury as a deadline add.
i once received a ton of texts from a very angry woman who kept calling me curtis jackson and yelling about ghosting her and i could not for the life of me get her to understand that the guy gave her 50 cent's name and my phone number
You can argue the White Sox’s trade deadline either way: one could say prospects are lottery tickets and the AL is wide open so now is the time to go for it or that the team is outperforming expectations early and those prospects are supposed to join this group on the same timeline. I don’t know.
I'm really glad that ESPN got rid of a talented and knowledgeable dude like Ryan Clark so they could pay a sleeveless punter more money so Aaron Rodgers could be on TV complaining about Dr. Fauci. What the absolute fuck is wrong with everyone
He’s talking about the Bradford pear.
"Their trees are all...gross." ?????
It seems like PCA sorta sucks but I’m sure there’s a certain breed of Cubs fan that embraces all of this because he’s theirs.
I listened to Life of a Showgirl the other day and man, it’d stand up to her best work if it weren’t for the lows, which hit you like Terry Tate.
