Slightly flawed yet completely serviceable

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

The Diarrhea Lettuce Company Has Been Linked to Forced Labor

The lettuce-producing Taylor Farms was linked to the widespread use of prison labor before its involvement in a cyclospora outbreak.

The level of apathy is not surprising. The lack of humanity used to be surprising. They'll only be upset when they find out their Uber delivery was delayed because their driver was kidnapped. Not enough Tuesdays for these two transplants.

I am formally calling for an independent, impartial, and credible investigation into the Philippine Army’s recent killing of 19 people in Toboso, Negros Occidental province. Among those killed were U.S. citizen civilians Kai Sorem, a resident of Seattle, and Lyle Prijoles.

Overlayed a letter to the ambassador to the Philippines is a photo of Kai Sorem and text that reads, "NEW: Jayapal Calls for an Independent Investigation into Toboso Killings, including seattle resident Kai Sorem." Smaller text reads, "Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal is calling for an independent, impartial, and credible investigation into the Philippine Army’s recent killing of 19 people in Toboso, Negros Occidental province. Among those killed were U.S. citizen civilians Kai Sorem, a resident of Seattle, and Lyle Prijoles."

HAPPENING NOW: Houstonians are gathering to demand justice for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and call for the abolition of ICE and prosecution of its killer agents. Shut it down for Lorenzo! ICE OUT NOW!!

I spent over 8 bucks on an iced latte yesterday and what in the absolute fuck. I am going to give up my Seattle habits because they are all ridiculously overpriced. And with thise prices, I am over barista bullshit.

Joan Sebastian Guerrero pictured with his daughter who was in the car with him when he was murdered by ICE, while unarmed, in the country legally and going to work. An outrageous crime, there must be justice.

The Downtown Seattle Association claims taxing high earners is driving down employment in Seattle, and they point to high vacancy rates and lower total *downtown* employment to prove the point. A look at the data shows this is total BS. Here is how it works: www.theurbanist.org/op-ed-the-da...

Op-Ed: The Data Says Seattle’s High Earners Tax Is Working, Despite Whining from Big Business

The Downtown Seattle Association recently released a “report” that was meant to convince us that taxes on high earners are smothering the Seattle economy. Here’s why their analysis is flat wrong.
