The Great has a tone SO disrespectful to historical accuracy that it's hard to adjust to... once you get used to it, it's a delightful, wicked satire. Fanning is clever and heartbreaking, but Nicholas Hoult threatens to steal ALL the scenes. Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (out of a possible 5), a VERY strong start.

Inkheart: This is fine. It tries to be a faerie tale, but it's more of a crime boss/prison break movie. The magical conceit is cool AF tho, especially to a writer like me. The book in the movie sounds HELLA derivative; clever if metatextual. Weak point: Andy Serkis CAN'T act. #FilmSky Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
