How do we incentivise firms to take on more young people? Some believe the problem lies with the convergence between youth and adult minimum wages, while others think we should scrap employer NICs. But we see far greater promise in expanding existing government schemes. More⬇️ buff.ly/tDv85WG

Microsoft: $101 BILLION in profits. $12.5 BILLION in tax breaks. $176 BILLION in stock buybacks. 4,800 workers fired this week. 9,000 workers fired last year. Please don't tell me trickle-down economics works. It never did. Nothing trickles down.

Farage may have a more credible pitch in the idea he could work best with France on the channel if Le Pen & Bardella won the Presidency of France. But he is torching that with this notion he could take boats to France *without* any arrangement with France!

Reform had seemed to be moving away from "invade French waters without pernission A risible 'come & have a go if you think you are hard enough' (Likely to end in humiliating crisis by triggering suspension of justice & home affairs + trade cooperation Tim M noted it was daft 18 months ago

OK, so I do not want to hear, at any point in the coming years, a Government spokesperson talking about "tougher sentences" for whichever type of offending is causing popular outrage at the time. You need to own this, politicians, and all the needless confusion and pain you're causing now.

Crop yields down, our countryside scorched and over 2800 people are dead due to this summer's heatwaves. Meanwhile fossil fuel giants are raking in record profits. We must end this rampant profiteering, and cut fossil fuels from our energy mix as soon as possible.

If it's good enough for a right-wing ghoul like Thatcher, the issue should be when is Burnham going to do it, not whether or not there's pressure.

The state of this. A lovely day out for Badenoch and Philp, playing dress up and making pronouncements about early release schemes - having left the country with one hundred available men's prison places, after fourteen years in charge. You read that right. One hundred places.

This has made me so angry. It's time NHS staff were properly protected from these people who should be banned from accessing NHS treatment. Let them pay for a 'white' clinician if they want one so badly (and hopefully they'll struggle to find one- be an ally!) news.sky.com/story/nhs-st...

Despite biblical level rain for the first third of 2026 we now have a drought because nobody built reservoirs in the last 30 years. The last to be built was Carsington Reservoir in Derbyshire, completed in 1991. JUST ONE, Havant Thicket Reservoir, is under construction to protect the Test & Itchen.
