one thing I miss from the pre-genAI days is that there was no questioning that human nonsense was simply human nonsense. a dog piloting a plane? some silly human toiled over that in photoshop. now, when something is nonsensical, we question if it’s ai and don’t get to enjoy it the same way.

I firmly believe that corpo greed will result in the next video game crash. The majority of customers simply won't be able to afford the hardware due to the current AI driven hellscape, and when next gen gaming ends up as a niche, prices will rise further so AAA games can attempt to turn a profit...

Welp! Looks like working in my office when the UK weather will be 40 degrees is going to be next to impossible with only a tiny desk fan and my PC fans sounding like a jet engine already 😬

Managed to give an old laptop a second life after Win 11 basically bricked it, as it didn't have enough HDD space to update, and after clearing all the data, it still didn't have enough space 😑 I opted to format, ditch Windows and roll with Linux Mint, and oh boy! What a great OS!

Does a stable version of After Effects actually exist? Starting to think that CS6 was the peak and it was all downhill after that. I love my job but man, it's really hard to love this software!

DLSS 1-3: "for a small cost to image quality you can turn raytracing on without tanking frames. Cool huh?" DLSS 4: "you can have full path tracing but looks a bit like YouTube compression if you move the camera too quick so just don't do that" DLSS 5: "game looks bad and runs like dog shit"

Looking forward to Replaced releasing in April. Good to know that a game with this amazing visual style is actually coming out... I legitimately think the other game in this style (The Last Night) was nothing more than a faked trailer 😬

I highly encourage everyone to play the demo of Phonopolis. @amanita-design.net have created something truly special here. I played on Steam Deck and legitimately said out loud "That's so f*"king cool!!" Multiple times 😄 I cannot wait for the full game to release 🙌

Monetisation really did kill Twitter. The amount of grifting and engagement bait (especially Gen AI engagement bait) is ridiculous! Legitimately a place where intelligent discussion and compassion are all but dead 😬

I'm really trying to get into the Dragon Quest series, but continue to bounce off it 😅 The DQ VII Reimagined is beautiful and the music is stunning... But the dialogue, puzzles and combat is so paint by numbers 😬

I’m quite seriously concerned about the economic collapse that’ll come with the AI bubble popping, and I feel like this really illustrates why: so many headlines touting huge numbers and insane productivity for services there is absolutely no market for. Who wants 8,000 extra books a year?

Why? Who is this meant to be good for? Nobody wants your shit AI books, never mind 8,000 in a year. Just a terrible idea and a horrible road the publishing industry is heading down.

Bookseller article with the headline "New publisher Spines aims to 'disrupt' industry by using AI to publish 8,000 books in 2025 alone" 🤮🤮🤮
