Check out our latest work! AlphaFold 3 revealed a transient immune receptor complex that eluded biochemical studies for almost a decade 🤯 We describe a conserved structural logic underlying sensor–helper communication in an NLR immune receptor network 🧵👇

Congrats!, nice paper!. It would be interesting to know how transient are the resistosomes regulating ion transfer during real infection and check their putative autonomous and non-autonomous signaling roles as sensing molecular engines to coordinate defense responses :)

Delighted to see this work out in #ScienceAdvancesResearch @science.org where we uncover a surprising evolutionary origin of fungal effector proteins as ancient antimicrobials. Led by the super-star @mesny.bsky.social in the frame of @ceplas.bsky.social @mibinet.bsky.social & @madfungi.bsky.social

🍂🌱 An international research team led by @teamthomma.bsky.social has discovered the surprising evolutionary origin of fungal effector proteins: molecules that pathogens use today to infect their hosts appear to have evolved from ancient antimicrobial proteins. More: ➡️ uni.koeln/UCMWQ #UniCologne

Proud to share this preprint from Freddie_King and Juan Carlos @AdamWu9527 & @lderevnina labs! AS109-mediated agroinfiltration enables transient expression across non-model plants and positions faba bean as a tractable system for studying disease-resistance

Finally out! A follow-up to our Rhizobium rhizogenes story with @tolgaboz.bsky.social and Lida. We hope this work will make it easier to study many other plant species. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
