Looks like I guessed the aspect ratio, but was off on the size
Folding phones should take a cue from paper sizes - an A6 phone that unfolds to A5 would be amazing. And the aspect ratio would remain the same when unfolded

The thing that really gets me is when I’m given a PR to review or document to read, where it’s obvious that I’m the first human to ever fully read and understand it. Just full on workslop.
I‘m far from an AI doomer, but it is amazing how many serious voices — on LinkedIn, no less! — are sharing stories about how AI slop is quickly becoming one of the top problems they see in academic writing and research “AI will 10x our research!” doesn’t seem to be surviving encounters with reality
One of life’s great pleasures is performing malformed youth memes to the youths. For fellow practitioners I bring great news: 6-7 is the best meme to do badly since dabbing. Try saying “sixty-seven”, “6 or 7”, or just wrong numbers “4-5”. Move your hands sideways. Have fun with it!

We are currently in the 2025-6 academic year. School teachers are not ready for what will happen in September, at the start of the 2026-7 academic year.
Little known LED trivia: because red LEDs were developed first, all robots from the 60s had to be created evil
Art history is hard because how many different ways can you say “New Art”? We already have modernism, and contemporary, and art nouveau, etc. I run into this when naming my files. Have they tried just numbering the arts? “Ah yes, they were an influential artist in art 7.”
AI generated clocks for every minute: clocks.brianmoore.com This is a great visual example of how GenAI is directly usable only if you don't really care about the quality of the output. If you care, you'll need to clean it up, which may or may not save time overall

Lentils, beans, cane - when you think about it, reeses is basically a health food
A new social situation my college-age kids are telling me about is when someone in a group project contributes obviously LLM-generated work to the project. There’s always dead weight in group projects, but now the dead weight is convincing themselves that they’re fooling everyone
When I found a pub with an inverted normal map. (If you understand what this means, you have to repost.)
Organic sausages are one of the few organic foods made with real organs
@caseynewton.bsky.social if I was an AI company, rather than paying tariffs, I’d just build datacenters in less insane countries to train the models, especially companies that have a lot of offshore cash
This list is kind of shocking: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of... While it doesn't seem like economic protectionism is the main reason behind the tiktok ban, the two countries are definitely not on an even playing field
