I really think that being all shitty towards stories of formerly conservative rural people having political awakenings brought on by misery is kinda corny, especially when whole swathes of the democrats have their blinders on about the war crimes our politicians committed.
Guys you know Red Dwarf? You know the Timeslides episode? You know how Young Lister is raging about the Crypto F!cists who ruin everything? Did Red Dwarf predict Trump's Presidency?
If somebody had JKR's money, or even the share of money she has *admitted* spending on her campaign, they could have made real inroads addressing the various "reasonable concerns" she hides behind, making real differences, without trans people ever being an issue. At all.

Lots of talk of growth ahead of the Budget, as if it were a baroque puzzle. Our problem is basic. It's that we no longer support the things which facilitate growth: Europe, immigration, higher education, tax simplification, policy stability. These are all choices and could stop making them anytime.

I don't subscribe to participating in the fandom in a way she doesn't financially benefit from being okay. As long as her work remains relevant in any way she benefits and by actively engaging with her characters and world you're part of the problem.

So, I had this really great idea for a superhero story. A guy with amazing powers, who is constantly messed up by being a hero: dropped out of college, and cant hold down a job because of all the "unexplained" absences, all his mates think he is liar... Nope, that's just Spider-Man. Dammit.
Well, given my last book was about superheroes and had time travellers in... The MC was left coping with the idea that one of his *possible* futures was as a villain posing a global threat. However, the emphasis is on the "possible"...

NOBODY should be voting for ANY candidate who acts as though the rights of ANY minority are in any way expendable, for the sake of appeasing bigots. Labour's turn from 'peacemaking' with Gender Critical transphobes, to supporting Cass review, et al, is an alarm call to us ALL.
