I thought this was just banter. The think pieces bringing Brazil’s failure down to Catholicism vs Evangelicalism are reductive. Little mention of the tactical evolution on the global stage, players going abroad much younger, CBF’s decline…there’s been a whole lot.
We need the old Brazil back, badly. The ones who didn’t move to Europe early. The ones who’d played in the streets. Clutching their rosaries and always doing the sign of the cross. Those were the days.
