This is absolutely brilliant, and spot-on! (And funnily enough, just as I post this I can hear strains of similar piano music from the TV downstairs, no doubt accompanied by similar contestants saying backstabby things followed by other classics like jaunty pizzicato violins and wacky narration)...
Most TV is just this now.
This won't be my age until November, but this "Late-diagnosed ADHD haiku" that popped into my head pretty much encapsulates a lot: pre-birthday and post-diagnosis rumination, lifelong time-blindness and sudden rushes of panic! You think you've got all The time in the world then you're Suddenly 60
The Wooden O - A Handeful of Pleasant Delites (Middle Earth 1969) Jazz influences mixed with classical and free improvisation among other things. Lots of double bass, recorder and harp. I've also heard it described as 'Bagpuss music' which is very fitting! #VinylSky #VinylRecords #NowPlaying
"When I'm not spending the weekends in Wetherspoons or shouting at hotels, there's nothing I enjoy more than being a brainless thug-defending gobshite in the Question Time audience. I just *know* that Fiona loves to see it too, because, y'know, balance." And Ash was brilliant as she so often is.
Ash Sarkar had the perfect response to an angry Question Time audience member’s defence of the so-called patriotic anti-immigration gangs www.thepoke.com/2026/09/25/a...
'Far-right activist' - what a tip-toey way to say 'thug'. Otherwise though, good.
Good. Now arrest those who were with him for conspiracy, and then arrest those who tried to set fire to a hotel for arson. And then proscribe the group as a terrorist organisation. Which is what you are if you use violence for political ends. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
www.additudemag.com/background-n... It varies wildly in my case: too repetitive and I go into a bit of a trance-like state, silence only sometimes works, and if I have something I like playing in the background I just get into that instead and go "Ooh I LOVE that bit, let's hear that again!".
Does Music Focus Your ADHD Brain? Or Just Distract It?
Background noise, like an auditory fidget, helps some adults with ADHD focus their brains. Others with noise sensitivity can’t work to music. What is your…

Square Chapel Arts Centre is, along with the Piece Hall, one of the very best features about Halifax. It's so heartwarming to see the efforts Reece Dinsdale is making, along with growing support, to keep it going into the future. Especially at a time when we need arts and culture more than ever.
The cogs are still turning in my attempt to put #SquareChapelArts (Halifax) back on its feet. 🙏🏻 I’m flabbergasted by the offers of support & levels of backing I’m receiving. What sort of society are we if we fail to champion the arts & culture? Thanks, you good people. Stay tuned!

There's something deeply satisfying about peeling decades of crud from a dirty old record. (Winyl record cleaning gel for anyone who wishes to know. Best stuff I've ever used)... #vinylSky #vinylRecords
I had a few thoughts to say here but they seem to have dried up now I'm typing this! Suffice to say, so much of this really resonated.

Ironically, having £72 million will mean I can spend more money promoting the idea that I'm a man of the people and not just a rich, entitled tosser.
"It's not just entertainment" ....OR IS IT? Really, Barry's Economics truly is the gift that keeps on giving. Whichever video of his you see, it always turns out to be so much more: Humour, politics, behavioural science, cultural reference and commentary, all woven together in a brilliant way.
For seventy years the world barely made zombie films. Then suddenly we got The Walking Dead; 28 Days Later; World War Z; The Last of Us. This week's video asks why millions of people started imagining the same apocalypse at the same time. youtu.be/-XgCFn6Vbnw #Zombies #Economics #Psychology

Eugh. Some weeks ago: ebay punter buys an LP I listed, then within an hour of paying, lists it themselves for £40 more, (and using some of my photos, the cheeky bastids), overgrades it and doesn't even have the courtesy to leave feedback weeks after I sent it. Not having that, so they're blocked.
Data centres are springing up everywhere, using massive amounts of energy and water. I’ve signed @friends-earth.bsky.social’s petition calling for a pause on new data centres until the government gets a grip on the situation. Will you join me? action.friendsoftheearth.uk/petition/put...
Stop data centres draining our precious resources
Add my name Data centres are springing up all over the UK – using massive amounts of electricity and, in many cases, huge amounts of water. The UK is already facing water shortages, high energy demand...

Thinks: "This is unusual for me to play something more modern and recent!". *Spots year on label: released 26 years ago* "....Oh."
Tim Curry and Dolly Parton have taught us not only that you should be bigger, weirder, gayer, and freakier, but also that those qualities are what people will love about you. The things that make you strange and amazing are the things that will resonate with other strange and amazing people
Seeing all the tributes to Dolly Parton absolutely hits home just how universally loved she is, and how she really was the very best of us. This one hits hard, losing someone so special, and at a time when the very worst among us keep thriving. RIP Dolly - you were a one-woman tour de force. ❤️
Morton Subotnick LP - "Silver Apples of the Moon" Today's postal delivery. Definitely one I have to be in the right mood for but amazing stuff. #VinylSky #VinylRecords
LP by Bob Stewart: "The Unique Sound of the Psaltery" (1975) Perfect evocative soundtrack for this late Summer just-bordering-on slightly autumnal day in Todmorden looking out at the hills and breezy trees. #VinylSky #NowPlaying #VinylRecords #Todmorden
Just who do these arrogant fuckers think they are??
Says Richard Tice, a divorced man in a relationship with Isabel Oakeshott, also a divorcee, speaking for a party led by a twice-divorced man, as he tells us unmarried people should be deprioritised for social housing. One rule for me. Another for thee.
The Mellotron demonstration disc from circa 1964/65 featuring the original dual-manual version: side A for rhythm/accompaniments, and B for lead instruments, for the budding Mantovanis out there - until various pop groups twigged on and the sound went somewhere else entirely. #Mellotron #MusicSky
Slow handclap, Channel 4: this brazenly biased 'documentary' about ADHD rivalled the likes of Benefits Street for cheap sniping and oversimplification. "Oh look, ONE CHILD functioned better without ADHD meds, therefore neurodiversity is a myth and these malingerers should just Buck Their Ideas Up."
Only just found out about this For the record, you don't get multiple genetic markers and one of the most effective medications known to science with 'social constructs' Channel 4, this is, in scientific parlance, an absolute fu*king disgrace that will genuinely endanger lives #c4 #ADHD
