Our people deserve representatives who will put Western North Carolina first, not ignore us while they misbehave in D.C. My heart goes out to the young women who took roles with Congressman Edwards' office in the wake of his withdrawal from this race.

We see that our political system is broken, then keep behaving as if it worked. We need serious change, and it's time to take bigger swings.
Researching Baltimore’s success in preventing violent crime with @localprogressnetwork in July. Public safety has to be a community-led, multi-pronged approach, and cities can do this at scale if we have enough public pressure and votes to make funding a priority.
Save The Woods may not be entirely satisfied that ~50% of the South Campus parcel may be developed, but no 5K seat stadium is a major victory. Existing student housing blends nicely with the natural environment; so should new housing. Hopefully commercial retail will be at the edge & minimized.

Great summary of the reasons to visit Asheville in all four seasons.
Spring blooms. Summer festivals. Fall foliage. Winter deals. Asheville, NC is worth visiting in every season. My local guide breaks down exactly when to go and why. https://travelnestly.wordpress.com/ #TravelNestly #Asheville #NorthCarolina #Travel #VisitAsheville
I'd like to point out the cause of the recent gun violence in Asheville. It's guns.

This happy, beautiful young woman is my mother when she was just 18 or 19 years old. She passed away a couple months ago & I recently found this picture among her personal belongings. I've seen many other photos of her when she was young, but never this one previously.
This ad appeared in the Midwest edition of a Penny Saver last week. I assume it's a typo. Most people don't want to buy a used prostate because you don't really know how much mileage it has on it, whether the previous owner drove it hard or whether it's been involved in any rear-end collisions.
Not much difference from listening to any public health statement coming from RFK Jr.

Each week, I’ll be sharing information about where I stand on key issues affecting the #Asheville community. For July, we’ll look at public safety, and this week: Public Safety Issue: Standing Up For Our Rights (En español abajo.) #KimRoneyforMayor #KimRoneyforAsheville #KimRoneyParaAlcaldesa
Before there was a United States of America, there were ordinary people who were willing to stake everything on the belief that political power belongs to the people.

Beyond NC's U.S. Senate Race: What the Legislative Ballots Reveal is that NC Voters Are Choosing Sides
Looking beneath the headline Senate contest, new Catawba-YouGov Survey analysis shows North Carolina's legislative electorate becoming increasingly settled—and increasingly partisan.

What is it about Japanese gardens that make them such tranquil, peaceful spaces? Zen is hard to define exactly, but I know it (and feel it) when I see it!
Just attended adult space academy at the US Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL. Love sci fi & learning about space. Cool experience. As a kid of the Space Age, I'm just disappointed knowing how hard it will be to ever go beyond even our nearest neighboring moon & planet. Maybe some day!
Michelle and I loved reading to this bright group of kids today! We hope this new Chicago Public Library branch at the Obama Presidential Center will be a place where folks come to read, check out books, and connect with one another for years to come.
Great to hear UNC Health is proposing a new 92 bed hospital in West Asheville to compete with HCA Mission Hospital. But strange to select the site of the current Westgate Shopping Center as the location. That's a relatively new shopping center. Maybe tenants can move to a redeveloped Kmart site?

When we win, the first bill I’m filing is a comprehensive anti-corruption package: Overturn Citizens United Ban corporate PACs and super PACs Ban members of Congress from trading stocks Once we defeat the most corrupt politician in America, we can defeat this entire corrupt system.
This is what public service looks like. It's about caring, compassion & selflessness. That's true leadership. It isn't about being self-centered, self-dealing and self-aggrandizing.
To everyone who helped bring the Obama Presidential Center to life, thank you. Michelle and I are so grateful for all your dedication and hard work over the years. I got a little teary-eyed tonight thinking about my mother-in-law, Marian Robinson.
1st time growing Zephyr squash ("bi-squashual"?). Harvested & prepared one with dinner last night. Nice texture & taste. Seems like they're going to be fairly productive. I've never had much success with crookneck yellow summer squash but last year's straightneck yellow ones were super productive.

I'm not a big fan of AI generated video clips, but this one is simply too spot on not to repost. He can still do a lot of damage to America, but I think we are beginning to see the end of the tRump era. History will not be kind to the worst president in our 250 year history.

Music on Main in Weaverville just north of Asheville. Goes to 9 tonight.
If you Asheville locals find yourselves down by Home Depot/Fairview Rd & are hungry for something you can't get anywhere else in Asheville, you gotta stop at the Local Buggy Food Truck and get some Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian rotisserie chicken). It is a thing unto itself! The chiles, spices, sauces!
It's definitely time to do away with the Electoral College. We're one of the few democracies that isn't a true representational democracy, at least in terms of electing our top government leader. Crazy if 1 candidate wins the popular vote but another, who won the Electoral College, becomes President
Buttigieg: Let's talk one more thing, one more radical proposition on the executive branch. What if everybody's vote counted the same?
