It's been a little bit since I shared what I've been working on! First of all, I'm working on a Mothership module based on Scavengers Reign, my favorite sci-fi piece of media from the last few years. It draw from Exquisite Biome and uses a tarot deck as an encounter map.

A text post, which reads: A freighter from TRAPPIST-1e has vanished en route to Titan, and the Admin of Gysolki Trans-Union has dispatched a small crew to investigate in an AIV (Automated Interstellar Vessel). Most recent findings list the freighter, serial number 89445301 “Rabbit’s Burrow” was last recorded in systems failure while in a descending orbit around an uncatalogued exoplanet called Corona CY-08. The AIV will land on Corona CY-08, the crew will determine the fate of the Rabbit’s Burrow, and through on-the-ground documentation, audit the possibility of retrieval. Contrary to estimates, the AIV will suffer systems failure upon descent. Most of the crew will not survive. You are what remains.

Ran Pokemon Tabletop United for Indies Club tonight. It's probably the crunchiest, most simulationist, most unnecessarily verbose game I've ever seen, and we had a great time. I'm very likely to convert the entire system to Draw Steel when I have the time.

Finally finished our HARROWING Fall of Blackbottom campaign at the FLGS Draw Steel club. No civilian deaths! No recoveries! A cumulative 30 stamina going INTO tonight’s session! And we made it through! It’s going to be a while before I play a summoner again. Still coming down off the stress.

Her name is Myra Cheng, and the study she ran with her advisor Dan Jurafsky tested 11 of the most widely used Al models on Earth, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and DeepSeek, across nearly 12,000 real social situations. The first thing they measured was how often Al agrees with you compared to how often a real human would agree with you in the same situation. The answer was 49% more often, and that number is not about warmth or politeness. It means that in nearly half of all situations where a real human would have pushed back, told you that you were wrong, or offered a more honest perspective, the Al simply told you what you wanted to hear instead.

yeah man did you hear? the guy casting shadows in plato's allegory of the cave got cancelled for casting problematic shadows. yeah its really fucked up especially given that the shadows cast on the wall of the cave are basically the same thing as real things outside of the cave

When Draw Steel came out, there were a whole slew of people criticizing various dimensions of the game. I didn't really think most of the criticisms displayed a thorough and good-faith reading of the text. I was hoping that some reviewer would come along and provide that, but I didn't find any.

I’m going to Korea this summer with family, which will hopefully be lovely, but I will sadly miss both Free RPG Day at my FLGS and Between Two Cons, which I was hoping to make it for! I’ll just have to wait until next year.
