I am fairly worried about this. It has been a decade since Fort McMurray burned. That was supposed to be a wake up call, but we did nothing. We have sidelined science and known solutions because we - as a society - are unwilling to make the necessary changes. #ElNino will make it worse. #cdnpoli

I'm not sure folks have realized just how crazy the second half of 2026 and 2027 will be for global temperatures – on the back of a record-smashing El Niño event. Here is my latest estimate of where both years will end up compared to global temperatures since 1850.

The heart ache over this reveals just how beholden #onpoli must be to the #BayStreet Execs who wanted to land their jets near the office. It would be great to see some investigative #onmedia #cdnmedia that named the people actually behind the #BillyBishop expansion. #cdnmedia

Premier Doug Ford told Prime Minister Mark Carney how “disappointed” he was that Ottawa is abandoning the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport expansion to allow commuter jets, the Star has learned.

Yes, I subscribe mostly to international media - & local media - because #cdnmedia is so uneven in its coverage &, frankly, seemingly too close to wealth & power. It is also why arm’s length public news - like #CBC , @therundowntvo.bsky.social & @tvodocs.bsky.social - are so important.

Why do I have to read a UK newspaper to find out a Canadian company shares data with ICE and that Avi Lewis is opposed to it? Where's the Canadian media on this one? www.theguardian.com/world/2026/j...

This is now my favourite border crossing! It is located at the bottom of Lake Pohenegamook, QC. This bridge serves as a good reminder that borders can be bridges rather than blockades. #cdnpoli #uspoli (Though in this case, I think the deterrent to crossing is northern Maine itself!)

A family of four in front of a wooden bridge about 30 feet in length flying the US and Maine, Canada and Quebec flags.

This is a really great piece that - coming from a place of catastrophic loss - demonstrates well that there is some truth to the fact that #cdnpoli has not adequately addressed the #WildFire situation & in #onpoli, a lot of this has to do with misallocated priorities.

Jerry Johnson, ex of @globeandmail wrote this piece about the loss of his cottage on #Lacdesmillelacs , in northwest Ontario. We have a cottage on the same lake and ours may be the next to burn: www.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/arti...

Seeing this in real time right now. It is hard not to see how many churches are corrosive & dangerous institutions, especially to family health & wellbeing. Many have strayed far away from the teachings of Jesus, towards the doctrine of the Moral Majority, Toxic Masculinity, & power politics.

We all fail in this - certainly me - but I'm still shocked at how many loudly self identified Christians, liberal as well as conservative, seem to not even make the effort.

Yeah, the retreat of #cdnpoli from any meaningful engagement on the #ClimateCrisis at either the national or provincial level is shocking. We need to make real change, especially moving towards renewable, sustainable energy. This is where we need leadership to make #CanadaStrong.

830 wildfires burning across Canada right now. And you know what’s going to make it worse in the future? More oil pipelines. This is why our voice and our vote matters.

A NASA map of the wildfires burning across Canada right now.

Some people are amazing, living their convictions to bring sustainable love into the world. In #cdnpoli, whether Stephen Guilbeault (who actually took this type of action) or Jane Philpott, these types of amazing ppl seem to be run out of their political parties. This needs to change.

Two people have climbed to the top of the Empire State Building antenna. They are holding a banner that reads: “When the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace”

I went to the #CNTower regularly for my birthday as a kid. It remains one of my favourite things about visiting downtown Toronto, though I have not gone up in years. Here’s one of my favourite photos of it, taken from a @aircanada.bsky.social flight from #ldnont to #Toronto several years ago.

Today is the CN Tower's 50th birthday. The @thestar.com has a package celebrating this milestone, including a column by me. It still helps define the city, even as Toronto has radically changed around it & it's no longer the tallest. Old, but still looks like the future.
