Chronically depressed optimist who thinks kindness should be the "next big thing."

If you are one of the almost 100 Dems who voted to honor the guy who said the Civil Rights Act was a huge mistake, don’t bother asking Black people to vote for you, donate to you or canvass for you next year. Don’t bother. Please. And don’t be shocked if you get a primary opponent.

We can't allow ourselves to become numb to mass shootings. What happened today in Minneapolis is heartbreaking, and Michelle and I are praying for the parents who have lost a child or will be sitting at their hospital bedside after yet another act of unspeakable, unnecessary violence.

The weather dude on TV last night said it's going to be 99 degrees today. I'm demanding that he be fired and replace with another dude that will forecast a high of 82. Am I doing this right?

Let's talk politics and #branding JD Vance destroyed Ohio’s brand & I can prove it. In 2014 the Ohio Department of Tourism did a study to understand Ohio’s brand. After focus groups & interviews with Americans from outside Ohio they arrived at a (not entirely surprising) conclusion—

"I want people to be safe and protected. I want to live on the right side of history. I am an immigrant. My parents are refugees from Chile. We fled a dictatorship and I was privileged enough to grow up in the United States after asylum in Denmark. I stand by those protections, always."

Disorganized nonsense. We need quick, calculated, and decisive action. If you’re a nonprofit or community organization trying to save democracy please respect and appropriately leverage the skills and time given by your volunteers. 2/2

I started my career in nonprofits. I do understand all the challenges, truly do. Here is the challenge for people like me right now—our democracy is in shambles. Our elected officials are either participating in the deconstruction or absent. I’m happy to help, but I don’t have patience for 1/2

One of the nation’s leading medical research institutions has saved countless lives. They aren’t perfect, but they have served the greater good for Americans for a good part of our history. IF American innovation in healthcare is so important, why cut them off at the knees?

The largest private employer in Baltimore just lost $800 million in federal contracts and grants. This recession is going to be a doozy.

Just heard from a friend who is a true hero veteran. His company was destroyed in 30 days by the VA when they canceled 5 contracts without notice. 23 Americans mostly veterans out of work and a veteran owned small business destroyed. For nothing. They're dismantling the VA not "reforming" it.
