The number one piece of advice I wish someone had given me when I came out as trans: pick a name that was popular in your birth year and NOT in your coming out year.

Transgender visibility is not a positive without strong civil rights. I’d much rather be invisible in this climate, please and thank you.

Y’all, if you have ADHD and you struggle with perpetual fear your friends are all going to abandon you, with attachment anxiety, and with self-critique, consider asking your doctor about alpha-2 adrenergic agonists.

I know some people who spend all their money on cosmetic surgery chasing an unobtainable ideal. I also know some people who’ve spent every penny and then some becoming who they’ve always wanted to be. 1/2

Sometimes when I show up early for my flight I walk in on the arrivals level and then walk right out the door again so I get the extra dopamine rush of *arriving* in a place

You push the request stop button on the airport bus just before the airport stop on the off chance that the bus won’t actually stop at the airport because no one pushed the button

Tfw a syringe (for estrogen) and an emergency narcan dose fall out of your bag in front of people at the same time, at work 😳

Last week I learned that the magic phrase in a political campaign which serves to create a contrast between a candidate and her opponent is, “I am the only candidate in this race who…” and since then I’ve been seeing it *everywhere*.

Today I strung together my first full real sentence (albeit with a comma splice) in Ukrainian while talking with my coworker friend: Так, але думаю що, чому то ця пісня нова для мене, не люблю цю пісню, мені подобається ця пісня ☺️

Yesterday, I replaced the Tesla (the unit of magnetic field strength) with the Ohm (the unit of resistance). It’s my first time manufacturing an art project of my own design.

The left: I hope the rest of the world understands that many of us didn’t vote for Trump and don’t support him. Also the left: Maybe Texas should have thought twice before they voted for Trump if they didn’t want a bunch of kids to drown.

I don’t know what to say today. I haven’t felt this scared for my country since 2007, when I and my friends survived the then-worst mass shooting in US history, at Virginia Tech. 1/

Today, the Supreme Court voted 6–3 that Christian nationalist ideology trumps the rights of trans people to receive medically necessary care. The ruling applies to children, but it’s a blueprint for expanding such bans to adults.

There are a lot of reasons it feels hard for me to visit South Carolina, but I’m not mad about the enormous raindrops and thunderstorm sound effects happening right now.

I just had a very bad dysphoria day and then as I was walking out of the grocery store parking lot this guy yelled out his car window, “you too fine to be walking by yo self,” and I know a lot of y’all hate cat calls but that was exactly what I needed just now.

Y’all, I’ve been trying to attend my local (Alameda County, CA) Democratic Party meetings for months now. Today I showed up in person and it’s behind a locked gate at the local Teamsters. In the Zoom, they won’t admit you unless you’re a member. How does someone actually join this organization?
