part of the reason people refusing to accept that the AI water issue is fake drives me crazy is because if they focus so much on one issue, it implies that if that issue were fixed, they'd have no problems with AI but that's not true! they'd still hate it! it's not their real objection!
Life update: the ballot drop off was surrounded by about a dozen people, cheering each time someone put a ballot in the box. I did a funny bit where I started to put my ballot in the box, then pretended to change my mind and walk away in an exaggerated manner. It, uh, bombed completely.

If you want to get in early on a Thing To Be Concerned About, the forecasts for El Nino and its downstream impacts are kinda crazy.
I haven't been able to come up with a less dumb way to put this but... you can kind of clock these guys early by the structure(?) of the arguments they find compelling

american evangelical christianity is more or less antinomian. it lacks any moral requirements which cannot be instantaneously and privately absolved, does not require that you be catechized by anything other than John 3:16, and ratifies every impulse which you might have.
The connection between a certain subset of bsky and Monster Energy drink is real and deserves to be studied.

I think if you're a human being that gets killed by a wild animal in 2026 you should automatically get a memorial statue built of you in hand-to-hand combat with said animal.
It doesn't matter because these bans on trans athletes are driven solely by bigotry, but the idea that relying on "biological sex" lets you avoid relying on socially constructed definitions is incorrect. It's a fundamental misunderstanding of what biology *is*
