Cat butler. GameDev. Artist. Engineer. Gamer. Created a game engine: Ascension. Love JRPGs but will play pretty much everything that's fun. Has massive backlog as a result. No GenAI.
I finally got around to Grim Dawn after the Fangs of Asterkarn DLC dropped on the weekend. I ended up trying 2 different brand new characters builds both of which are pretty fun. First is a dual pistol wielding Runekeeper pictured below at level 29.
I see game reviews complaining "it's too hard!" As someone who likes difficult gameplay I cringe every time. I encourage devs to include difficulty modes to make games easier but IMO too many games are designed for the "modern" gamer who apparently wants a yellow-painted stompfest.
Fire Emblem: Fortuneβs Weave will apparently give you the choice of fighting the big boss solo or to use time travel to retrieve allies from the Heroic Games in a final? chapter. Reminds me of Dragon Quest 4 with individual chapters and then a final where they all come together with the true hero.
You can't make me advertise Fire Emblem. They scare me. The swords are too sharp. I need held.
Artists: - Likes do not determine your value - It's okay to not create - Not everything you make has to be important or good - You can make things just for yourself - You're allowed to rest - You're so much more than what you make
Good. I have some slim hopes that maybe someday the Dragon Quest games will move to GoG and be completely DRM free. Square Enix has some titles on there now including some Final Fantasy.
Actually I was looking for a princess... Sometimes even in Dragon Quest Monsters - Caravan Heart you can get what you want.
I got my copy of Dragon Warrior free as a promotion from Nintendo Power! It was sent to the wrong address and it took a long time to sort it out but it was worth the wait!
Happy Anniversary to Dragon Warrior! πβοΈπ Originally released in Japan as Dragon Quest, this NES RPG arrived in North America in 1989 and introduced many players to one of the best RPG series.

Dragon quest Monsters - Caravan Heart progress! I'm looking forward to this area this most I think. The little tidbits of DQ2/DQ7 lore in this game are fun. The monster system is serviceable but not as fun as other DQ Monsters games. I do like the wagons/caravan system though.

Happy 25th Birthday, Golden Sun! Released in Japan on 01/08/2001. Camelot RPGing in your pocket, with the sun literally your friend if you want to see the screen on an OG GBA. ;w; But yes, one of my favourite JRPGs back then (cooled on it a bit these days) and a core part of my GBA nostalgia.
Please use this link twitch.uservoice.com/forums/92338... and tell twitch how fucking insane this is. Comment and let twitch know that this is horrible. Thank you

Twitch and Amazon are apparently planning to use streams to train Generative AI. Multiple sources tell me it will be announced in the coming months, despite some internal friction against it. Creators may be able to opt out of some training data.
My 40th anniversary Dragon Quest goodies made it home safe!!!! I was so scared for the plush π₯Ίπβ¨
Big news today: GERMAN COURT RULES AI MUSIC FIRM SUNO BROKE COPYRIGHT RULES Suno "has to provide information on illicit revenue", and "will have to pay damages". Wow. www.reuters.com/world/german...
Today in Dragon Quest Monsters Caravan Heart I rapidly have my prime-slime-class guy, Slalon, becoming a Halo Slime.
I'm lucky if I can influence my own cats but I'll be darned if I'm just going to keep quiet about things I think are wrong or, equally important, not encourage things I think are right.
Heard a LOT of influencers argue boycotts (i.e., Sony) don't matter. I don't agree. It's the same sense of powerlessness that's led to awful historical decisions. If you feel your voices, votes, and purchases, don't matter then you might as well just resign yourself to the least desired outcome.
Agree with David. Sony is all about profits. Not about gamers. There's no point to getting a PS6 when it's digital only. Just get a PC. I have zero interest in PS6. Also a proposed Playstation boycott is planned for the week of Aug 23-30: Don't log on. Don't buy anything.
Sony heard us!!! But they don't care. And I'm just done with them. youtu.be/QMy2qRc3MZA

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave is Nintendo's next release! It's not until September 17th, but this is my most anticipated Nintendo game of the year.
Doing some shifting of lower performance demanding items from my SSD to HDD today. I really could use more SSD space but not in this market.
looking at the headlines and reflecting once again on how all the smart, hard-working, honest people I know feel like theyβre going at least a little insane in our era of total Stupid Immoral Asshole ascendancy
