There's lots of stuff LLMs can't do, but if you want to disbelieve all the recent math, you have to believe a bunch of Fields Medalists with long track records are just straightforwardly lying about the thing they care most about. I saw two productions this weekend that feature charismatic leaders a long way from home, a consideration of the moral weight of hospitality to strangers, and the consequences of desire and the pursuit of power. And, in the case of Rocky Horror, memorable dialogue.

“Our Bronze Age is collapsing” is pretty much the equivalent of that moment when a character ostentatiously says the title of the movie

There’s nothing subtle here. Forced immiseration. The less fortunate need to suffer more and more extremely. Notice that people who have spent a lot of energy bemoaning government bureaucracy are pleased to ramp up paperwork to keep a grandmother hungry.
