Had an absolute blast serving as faculty volunteer for @acs.org’s Postdoc-to-Faculty (P2F) Workshop! Thanks Natalia and Nicole for inviting me to help out! I had the best time networking with amazing future faculty, sharing with them my experiences with the academic job search and hiring process!

This billionaire’s fortune is built atop research funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation, and yet he seeks to destroy that agency and its investments in the scientific engine that has fueled our tech industry since the 1950s. And why? Because it tried to include more diverse scholars?

Many thanks to Prof. Melissa Reeves for training me, my learning assistants, my colleague Prof. Sarah Bergeron, and my fellow instructors from the Bio and Math Departments last Friday! My LAs and I are beyond excited to implement #POGIL in our General Chemistry classes next semester and beyond!

Sort of a 🧵? So here's my moral quandary/query: Can there be an ethical billionaire? If answering yes, the answers I've seen always rely on suppositions and ideations. They yes answer never has any actual, concrete evidence, or attempts to distort evidence.

I have overflowing love and eternal gratitude to my learning and research assistants and our ACS Student Chapter officers. They shared their love of chemistry within the Bayou Region, from the gen chem classroom to outreach activities. I am beyond excited about what they will do in the future!

My 97-years-young lola/abuelita/grandma lost her three-month battle with liver cancer on Star Wars Day, at ca. 7:20 p.m. Manila time. It’s poetic that I grew up with such an wise and strong woman w/ The Force in her. She dreamed of becoming a teacher; she inspired me to pursue a career in academia
