the kind of expendable and invulnerable that makes the perfect henchmen

Hey, remember when these same banks moved over *two trillion dollars* in money laundering schemes? The news broke six years ago, it was called the FinCEN files. You might have forgotten because the only enforcement action was sending the whistleblower to jail.

Banks permitted millions in suspicious transactions tied to Epstein—and former 60 Minutes correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi had the story months ago. But the report would never air. trib.al/ZShZlIS

I don't think he would have any malice about it. He would give cthulhu a gummy and cthulhu would start to feel it kicking in and ask how many mg it was and tom would say "I'm not sure, I made them myself" and then cthulhu would be real nervous on the couch for the rest of the night

A friend is a family therapist and tells people if they cannot resist taking pictures of their kid at bathtime then never do it on an internet connected device, never put it in a cloud backup, and do not send it to anyone. Have some respect for their privacy, and the person they will soon become.

Miller is a piece of shit. But be cautious about calling family photos of nude toddlers "CSAM." I've written about lives ruined over allegations that turned out to be harmless photos of kids taking a bath or running naked through the house. Moreno is already calling for prosecutions, here.

a thing that sticks with me about Obsession is that she didn't have superhuman strength or anything, the guy could have had her 5150'd while he figured out how to undo the wish. It's not a plot issue, he prioritized his own proximity and access to her body at every turn. Truly evil little man.

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

Dr. Lucky Tran@luckytran.com · 6d ago

People still complain about “lockdowns” but we had none in the US. We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.

Google either needs to remove Sundar Pichai and any of his AI Uber Alles allies from the company or they are not going to be a viable company in the long term. Traditional search and search advertising is still the core product and still valuable, and he's actively dismantling it.

there's like at least 20 buttons or menu options just in google sheets pushing gemini at me, it reeks of desperation. also, the free version of gemini is more or less complete trash and gives wrong answers about nearly every damn thing, zero QA on that thing ever.

So the nub of my concern is not that Wilson didn't like the movie - that's fine! It's that she expressed that dislike in a way that *also* communicates contempt for the people who *did* like the movie (which is **97%** of them), who do not deserve that contempt, in a way that I think is unhelpful.
