"Who are you to me, stranger? Just another morsel. Will you beg for release until your final squeal? Or will you offer yourself willingly to your new Master and drink the milk of destiny?" "God! Stop it! Stop talking like that!"

New on the #scpwiki: a case of mistaken identity puts GAW's Wren Masterson in the crossfire between a pair of monster hunters and an army of Illuminati vampires. It's "The Eventide Incident", a new chapter in The Eternal MxTape! scp-wiki.wikidot.com/the-eventide...

Stop pretending that only one party is responsible for making us more vulnerable to wildfire risks. The escalating danger we are in is a multi-party effort. NONE of Canada's major political parties has thus far taken this increasing risk seriously. 🧵 1/

In the top right corner, Alberta premier Denielle Smith, with overlying text: "Cut wildfire response budget while pushing fossil fuel expansion"

In the bottom left, former Alberta premier Rachel Notley, with overlying text: "Cut wildfire response budget while pushing fossil fuel expansion"

In the bottom right, prime minister Mark Carney, with overlying text: "Cut wildfire tracking budget, cut budget for Environment and Climate Change Canada by 45.4% while pushing fossil fuel expansion"

Carney rammed C-22 through committee, rushing a massive expansion of state surveillance powers without proper debate. While few minor fixes were made, core threats to digital privacy and civil liberties remain unresolved. Canadians deserve better than secret orders and closed-door cabinet overreach.

Official media statement from MP Jenny Kwan, NDP Public Safety Critic, regarding Bill C-22. The headline reads: "Carney Government Rushes Bill C-22 Through Committee, Leaving Core Privacy and Civil Liberties Threats Unresolved."
The statement expresses deep concern over the government forcing the bill through committee before parliamentarians could meaningfully debate a massive package of amendments or listen to civil liberties groups.
Kwan notes that while amendments partially improved clauses regarding encryption and systemic vulnerabilities, loopholes remain. Severe concerns around lower thresholds for foreign law enforcement to access personal information went unaddressed.
The statement calls out the bill's reliance on secret orders, closed-door cabinet discretion, and the broad collection of sensitive metadata. It concludes by stating that after-the-fact oversight is no substitute for robust safeguards before data is collected, and condemns the Carney government for curtailing committee debate on digital privacy.

Wren is a bit of a lech, but if a match lasts beyond that first hookup, it will probably develop into a more meaningful relationship. Penelope tries not to care about romance. When she tried in college, it went badly; now, it's an unwelcome reminder that the work is her whole life.

What sort of person is your original character when it comes to romance? Are they the type to fuel the fire hot and fast, falling headfirst into love? What about a slow burn, careful with uncertainty clear in their actions? Perhaps they dont care at all? #OCASK #OCQOTD #OCSKY

Wren is loudly, proudly nonbinary. They don't fit neatly in social boxes, don't appreciate unwanted labels, and can get angry if someone insists upon them. Penelope is an asexual lesbian. Accepting that (and having others accept it) has been an obstacle for her forming any long-term relationships.

What is the most important thing about your original character's identity, according to them? #OCASK #OCQOTD #OCSKY

2/ C-22 drops the bar for police to "reasonable suspicion," the lowest threshold in Canadian criminal law, and forces your providers to keep a year of everyone's metadata. @mgeist.bsky.social calls it "a comprehensive surveillance map of virtually every Canadian."
