Man, great read. Even in the FFVII modding scene this kind of thing is starting to create issues. Not in any of the core architecture—that was finished long before the Gen AI boom—but in newer vibe coded tools that break stuff in unexpected ways.

i feel like people think the FFVII series is written with some big lore handbook by a bunch of staff with encyclopedic knowledge when in fact it's three generations of developers who haven't even glanced at the compilation in two decades. and this is why the Remake series is mostly very good lol
