got a pretty sick haul from the episcopal church used book sale today, including the blade trilogy dvd boxed set and a number of good books for my baby, chief among them: "billy gorilla."

the song "fly" by sugar ray, when the dude in the background is like, "like a birdie in the sky i'm so high.....high high high high higher than a fly".........wow.
"Drivers struck and killed 7,080 people walking in the United States in 2024, 72% more than in 2009, when pedestrian deaths were at their lowest."
If there’s a war on cars in the USA then the cars have won
American vehicles have grown heavier, faster, and wider every decade since 1982 — and federal fuel economy rules reward the growth. Evidence from 50 years of EPA data.

the AI book-marketing scam emails...... sending a TWELVE PARAGRAPH email to communicate that you'd like to help market my book is uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not convincing me that you're very good at marketing!
you should read this zine my brudder made cause i have a new short story in it BUT ALSO check it out for: 1) a really soul-affirming interview with izzy true about art + organizing, 2) a really good, true story of a cryptid encounter, 3) a picture of my buddy mike's bare butt
HERMIT MAGAZINE #1 is now available as a downloadable PDF on itch for free / pay what you can. I've been working on this zine for a long time with a lot of help and contributions from friends!
seems like society has just accepted that 90% of drivers are just staring at their phones and sending texts and stuff so i'm gonna start reading a novel whenever i'm behind the wheel

looking for tips on good boots. i've been buying the same style of doc martens for like 15+ years but they never last more than a couple winters, and my current pair is falling apart on me after only a little over a year.
oh maaaaan i didn't realize we were getting a new paul yoon book this year! our greatest contemporary american writer, imho.
From @readbookpage.bsky.social my review of Paul Yoon’s novel, ETNA: www.bookpage.com/reviews/etna...
it's been really weird finding my way back to doing creative stuff in the time since my book came out. i worked on the book for so long and built up so much pressure around it, i forget how most of the time, art feels like you're just dicking around, scribbling, not knowing what you're doing.

Don’t know who to credit for this. But it is how I feel.
the one bar in my neighborhood that has had israeli flags hanging outside since i moved here 1.5 years ago recently took them down and replaced them with new york knicks flags.
under-rated aspect of how slowly most literary journals operate: you can literally not write anything for 2.5 years and still have "new" work that's about to be published 😈
