Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

I worked for New York’s largest medical center at the start of the pandemic. There were morgue trucks on the streets. They set up emergency medical tents in Central Park. Healthcare worker colleagues died. It is horrific that RFK Jr is on national TV lying that ICUs were empty.
We could've made this montage of liars an hour long but you get the point
I'm so sad. I started to listen to some of his songs, like I'm sure many have, but I had to stop in floods of tears.
With broken hearts we announce the passing of Glen Hansard in the early hours of this morning. We are still dealing with the shock of it all, so we kindly ask that the privacy of Glen’s family, colleagues and friends is respected at this difficult time. . Photo by Mikolaj Rotowski
Absolutely brutal indictment of Trump's epic failure here, made even worse by his inability to grasp how monumentally he failed.
The Knicks only lost one game in the last two months and it was the one Trump went to lmao

Stopping for breakfast at Stonehenge on the way to a Cornish holiday...and sitting on the stones to eat my sausage sandwich.

Feeling overwhelmed with all of this. LISTEN. Another Louisiana resident (Marshawn is the only name we have) testifies against the state’s racial gerrymander, speaking truth to power up and down the hearing room and predicts how this story will end. Speak your truth, fight and believe.
"It is true that many voters do see immigrants as the source of all economic woes, but they are wrong and it matters that they are wrong." This is about the UK but it could equally be about Canada or, obviously, the USA.
“The revealed preference is their core voters actively enjoy being taken for a ride by the most obvious scam artists you’ve ever seen, as long as they validate their morbid pathologies about race and gender as they do so.” www.liberalcurrents.com/respecting-r...
Imagine talking about any other public service this way. Does the government keep public hospitals “afloat”? What about when it gave Marine Atlantic $169 million to support its operations in 24/25? The media does the bidding of those who want to private Canada Post when they adopt this framing.
Feds greenlight $673M to keep Canada Post afloat this year | CBC News
The federal government is handing hundreds of millions of dollars to Canada Post to keep the money-bleeding mail service afloat for the current fiscal year.

The richest man owns X. The second and fourth richest men control Google. The third richest man owns The Washington Post. The fifth richest man owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. And now the sixth richest could soon take over both Paramount and Warner Bros. See the problem here?
The Columbine massacre was on this date in 1999. Instead of energizing our country to get gun violence under control, it kicked off a new normal. One of the best explanations ever of journalism's destructive impact on mass shootings came from Roger Ebert in his review of Gus Van Sant’s “Elephant.”
When the UK voted for Brexit, I thought it was the most stupid self-inflicted harm a country could do to itself. If they vote in Reform and Farage, it will be worse.
What appalling priorities do you have to have when you COMPLAIN that teen pregnancies have gone down by 81%? Repugnant.

Some folk do not care for nuance. Or even basic facts.
I stopped for gas in the Ottawa valley. A guy was standing beside a pick up the size of an aircraft carrier. "Goddamn price of gas," he said. I pointed to the war In Iran. He thought this was ridiculous. "It's f--king Carney." If the PM thinks he's going to win fans lowering the gas tax... lol.
I’m not sure it has broken through to the general public that the president is a megalomaniac crazy person. Hopefully posts like this help.
It's basically worthless negotiating with the USA right now. Nothing they agree to can be trusted.
Wow Ceasefire agreement did include Lebanon. Trump: "agreed that included Lebanon." Mediators: "believed the ceasefire to include Lebanon." Pakistan announced it included Lebanon. "However, the US position shifted following a phone call between Netanyahu and Mr. Trump." CBS News:
The biggest story in the world right now is that the president of the United States is a demented old man who takes pleasure in torturing and killing people and is committing crimes with impunity. And yet most legacy media outlets are too cowardly to tell it like it is.
Great thread on total distinction.
House procedure is normally a snoozefest that only insiders care about. But this one is just such a perfect distillation of the incompetence in the GOP, failure of Trump as a leader and weakness of Mike Johnson. Let's roll the video tape:
