I’ve never understood the vehement opposition here to “tall” buildings. If it’s over 12 stories nothing else matters. Could be the highest quality build w/ amazing street level amenities and ample housing… doesn’t matter. White hot rage. Maybe it’s just a cultural mindset against “big” cities?

How about every time the government has to order workers back to work for the sake of the "national public interest," the CEOs of the companies they work for have to go to jail for a year, as punishment for being so bad at their jobs that they created strike conditions at such a crucial industry.

Debating going for a run as last week was a shit show and I didn’t run at all and I only did a VERY short run Sunday but it’s hot AF but there’s a breeze and if going to be even worse the next three days. Guess I should go. Hills? Speed? Tempo? Or plod? I leaning towards hills or plod.

The Young St. SuperStore, after about 5 years without them, has hand baskets again?! I’m shocked. I’ll keep using my own because it doubles as my “bag” to take stuff home but, I’m really surprised they brought them back. Although they’ll likely all be stolen w/in a few months 😆

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from I Shouldn’t Be Alive it’s that unless your life is in immediate danger self-rescue is almost always a mistake. It’s understandable but usually just gets you in more trouble. The other common mistake is to keep pushing on long after you’re realized you’re lost.

the entire Donnyverse is hella mad at America's tipsiest US Attorney right now, for failing to lock up an Olympian for the heinous crime of touching water. thank you for your attention to today's post, in which I mock all these stupid dipshits. link is here: bit.ly/45moF9j

so now US Attorney Boxwine is 0 for 2 in high-profile cases. she couldn’t bring a conviction for Assault With a Deadly Sandwich, and her indictment for Grand Theft Paint Chips has just blown up in her inebriated face.

but she did manage to turn the lives two innocent people upside down, so she’s got that going for her. which is nice.

Good friends of mine for 30+ years are apoplectic about the 52 story tower proposed for the old Piercey‘s site… I mean RAGE! I don’t get it. Who cares how tall a building is? You don’t walk around looking up. And they live blocks away. And there‘s no SFHs nearby. But they think 30 stores is ok 😵‍💫

It’s always odd to me when I get asked if I am wearing a mask because I am sick. In my experience, these days most people wearing a mask are doing so to prevent themselves getting sick, and most people who are sick don’t wear a mask at all.

Popped into LinkedIn and it's like… Lessons I Learned from Stubbing my Toe (or whatever). Gah. Add a quote at the end from a business leader. Ship it! Get likes! I dunno man. I know I should be on there but… yah.

So, what happens if I'm a parent and I know that my kid needs highly paid teachers, a library full of books with diverse characters, trans-inclusive bathrooms and extracurriculars, and a curriculum unpacking topics like systemic racism, colonial oppression, economic inequality, and climate change?

Facebook post from the U.S. Department of Education, saying "Parents know best" with a picture of a cartoon White, two-parent, heteronormative family, featuring a dad in a tie and sweater vest and a mom in a dress and pearls.
