It amuses me that colleagues will ask "Did you have a good weekend?" I mean, compared to a Monday morning at work, is there any other answer than "yes."?

Programmer nerd. Mostly ruby, python, java, *sh, SQL; secondarily React; tertiarily Next or Solid. Maybe Gleam, Vue, HTMX, Datastar... someday. I use the Oxford comma, & 2 spaces after sentences. Food groups are coffee, chocolate, cheese, and caramel.
There are a few people that I've stopped periodically reaching out to since they've only ever responded, never reached out on their own. I wonder if they think I'M the inconsiderate one for not continuing the effort? AM I?
Sad to hear John C. Dvorak has died. Enjoyed many hours of Cranky Geeks with him and Sebastian "Roop"ley (IYKYK), as well as Byte magazine articles in my younger years.

I saw a post that reminded me of an ex-colleague. I remember he had a habit of using "up arrow" to redo commands. But he would hit up-arrow more times than the # of letters the command was, for almost ANY command.

I can't help feeling a "game-changing" technology that's going to "transform" the way we work wouldn't need to be sneaked into products without the user's consent. All I see is posts asking "How do I switch this f**king thing off?" Copilot's the U2 album nobody asked for, except it's not free.
