someone responded to me that "gay people are free to make mid art but trans women are also strongly allowed to complain when transmisogyny is at play" and like: to what end? i think there's a valid, rational discussion about utilizing sensitivity readers while in the scripting stage

ok i saw the lesbian indie animated movie was it a bit bioessentialist in a way that could've been easily fixed with a few lines of dialogue? yes was the labrys a choice? sure but really & truly it was just fine—it wasn't exactly high art, but people are acting like it's worse than cancer. like??

lol it was such a carefully crafted statement, broad enough that she could say it and even mean it from her perspective it basically it amounted to "mentally ill adults can seek out treatment for themselves" not that trans ppl are the gender they say they are, that trans youth are real, etc

The most interesting thing about Rowling's statement is not the statement itself -- which absolutely not worth taking seriously even for a moment -- but that she (or more likely, Warner Brothers) felt the need to issue it. Someone over there is getting a bit nervous that she's fucking up the bag
