In the Discussion section the researchers write that chronically infecting viruses are prevalent and that: - emerging evidence suggests that their reactivation may contribute to autoimmune diseases, malignancies and chronic fatigue syndrome.

Severe Covid leads to persistent viral reactivation, with >10 different viruses noted in the first 40 days after hospital admission. Long Covid was specifically associated with reactivation of latent Anelloviridae virus @nature.com www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Although our results do not establish causation between virus reactivation and clinical outcomes, we highlight the prevalence of chronic viral reactivation during acute COVID-19 and long COVID. Our findings challenge the prevailing view that chronic viral reactivation is primarily a consequence of

Take a careful look at this map. As these places begin to hit their adaptation physical limits, 100s of millions of people are going to be on the move. We are utterly unprepared.

Map showing Heat-humidity risks to human health at 1.7-2.3°C

Within the next 2 decades half the entire world’s infrastructure will be located in places where we can no longer survive. Half the global human population will need to migrate in the next 20 years just to survive.

They think they're being clever eugenicists by saying that people with "underlying health issues" don't matter, but >75% of U.S. adults have a chronic condition (including 60% of age 18–34). So what they're really saying is "nobody matters, it's okay if everybody dies from inadequate regulation."

Breaking News: Two deaths in Michigan have been linked to cyclospora. Both people who had the parasite also had underlying health issues.

I’m intrigued by the recent resurgence of the ‘Long Covid is not real’ nonsense we saw back in 20/21. The refusal to learn is one thing, but the dismissal of reality is another. Long Covid is too painful, too common & too present in many people’s lives to be denied. The story is hard to rewrite.

“The findings are important for the way exercise-induced symptoms in post-COVID and ME/CFS are viewed. The results show that the symptoms cannot be easily explained by reduced physical activity or loss of fitness. The muscles of patients function differently in several respects than those of healthy

As we recall the trauma caused by COVID in 2020, we should not forget COVID continues to harm. Many still suffer from Long COVID, people who mask are often harassed, and we haven’t scaled clean air infrastructure. If we truly acknowledge past harms, we should be working to create a better future.

The long awaited government’s #MECFS Delivery Plan was published in July 2025, but it made no commitment to implement a dedicated care pathway or specialist service for people with severe and very severe #MECFS. Leaving severe patients without appropriate care.

Since then, there have been two Prevention of Future Deaths reports relating to severe #MECFS, but very little has changed apart from a few NHS training modules, which have had a remarkably low uptake.

It’s Severe ME Awareness Week. Here are some highlights from the explainer video on severe and very severe #MECFS I made in 2021. Experts discuss the lack of medical care, swallowing difficulties and tube feeding often being delayed until it becomes life threatening.

No.03 in our 101 series covers The Biopsychosocial Model. A vital topic as much of our clinical care is BPS. Lack of progress in care, research & treatment rests on this theory. Yet, it's a complex topic, so we have created an accessible article AND a 1-page visual summary. Link 👇

Cover image for a series titled "101: 03. The Biopsychosocial Model." Against a textured background in shades of yellow, orange and ochre, a large cracked surface dominates the image, with deep black fissures radiating from a central break, suggesting fracture or instability. In the upper left stands an engraved-style illustration of Lady Justice, blindfolded and holding a sword in one hand and balanced scales in the other. In the lower right is a small line drawing of a human head in profile with the brain illustrated in intricate detail. The title appears in dark blue text over the orange centre of the image. The overall design evokes themes of justice, critical examination and a model under strain.
