We haven’t had good air quality in rural Idaho for weeks due to fires. Everyone’s erratic and grumpy. No one can breathe or stand the heat, but we ache to go outside. I can’t imagine if this is our every summer now due to climate change and terrible wildfire policy.

I’m dreading finishing the last Milestone Compendium. They’re such time capsules for a specific moment in comics and pop culture. The stewards of this project deserve massive props.

I went to the Odyssey in IMAX on Thursday and I’m truly grateful to have such great friends to go see it with me. I won’t have an official review until I see it twice, because my first viewing I spent the entire time going “so how’s he gonna do this?”

What does a comic book writer do? Jot down something stupid like “a space marine shoots a rail gun at a giant horse in a city full of skeleton people” on their MacBook Pro, then lean back and call it a day. They don’t have to lift a finger for nothing!

I cannot tell you how shocked I was that the end of The Odyssey, considered one of the influential epics of all time, is Zeus blowing stuff up and Athena going, “well it’s over now.”
