I yelled with joy when @quickxyk.bsky.social had me come look at this plant he found. Iโve been trying to grow Scarlet Gilia for years and it seems a few seeds managed to take hold. I am ecstatic.

She asked if I knew about fibromyalgia. Iโm going back for an evaluation but she had some cautionary things to say about having that permanent diagnosis.

Fireflies and Penstemon digitalis, 2026 This is a real photo taken in my yard, made with many stacked 4-second exposures. In all, this photo represents about 8-10 minutes worth of firefly flashes in a small area. Several species are represented here.
A little bit late but Happy World Ocean Day! ๐ก๐๐ . This is a little different from my normal prehistoric art but Iโve always had a deep love for ocean life and Iโm working on a little personal project in the background which involves this Butterfly Fish (my absolute favourite when I was little) ๐
As expected, the leaves of the (nearly) albino blazing star (Liatris spicata) is doing poorly now that the sun is more intense. Expected, but still too bad.
