It is state capitalism from a brutal authoritarian dictatorship that ranks close to north korea and Russia on democracy index . look at south indian states for democratically elected socialist parties even a communist one in Kerala for a good example of socialism in developing world

this whole thing where we are supposed to pretend that the PRC is either some sort of startup nation or some sort of swedish-style welfare state is really tedious honest to god. of course it's doing well. it is a hell economy powered in no small part by actual slave labour

I dunno but it should probably be a bigger deal that the White House announced it wants to slap a 100% tariff on drug imports at the same time it is eliminating Medicare drug subsidies. And we’re talking about critical life-saving drugs like insulin, blood thinners, antibiotics, and heart meds.

The guy that they want you to be terrified of (Mamdani) is making sure kids in NYC are fed all summer and people have access to cheaper groceries, all while they take food away from kids getting SNAP. Just sayin, feeding kids should make you the good guy.

Tomorrow's combination of dangerous heat and unhealthy air is a serious threat to New Yorkers’ health. If you can, stay somewhere cool with air conditioning, limit time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and check on your neighbors — especially older New Yorkers and anyone with a health condition.
