Delighted to support ‘A New Woman Leader?’ A workshop convened by @jennpiscopo.bsky.social and our own @jess-smith.bsky.social. Today, Dr Smith presented a systematic review of voter bias towards women candidates, sparking discussion on gender, leadership and political representation.

We welcomed @johannarickne.bsky.social alongside @sotonecon.bsky.social last week to discuss how people differentiate and understand stories of sexual harassment. In a large scale study in Norway, Rickne and coauthors find that the story matters in how people “accept” and “reject” information.

Today we welcomed @johannarickne.bsky.social (@stockholm-uni.bsky.social) on Stories about Sexual Harassment: Information Rejection and Recall - why people fail to recognise it as wrongful and implications for prevention. Thanks to @gain-centre.bsky.social for supporting this event. #GenderEconomics

Happening today! @johannarickne.bsky.social presents a study of ~25k Norwegians, which finds people are less likely to recognise sexual harassment when stories are framed as “accusations,” involve male victims, or describe verbal rather than physical behaviour. Join us in Bldg 100 Room 8011

We closed our first day of our conference 🙌 with an In Conversation event celebrating the careers of Professor Fiona Mackay and Yvonne Galligan. 📖📚 Fiona and Yvonne led us down the “winding path” of their academic careers and offered their wisdom on feminist leadership and making space. 🎤
