The climate emergency is causing increasingly extreme weather. For the second month in a row, Winnipeg was hit with another massive storm on Wednesday night. The storm left thousands of folks without power, with power outages still ongoing, and many facing damage to their personal property.

So sad to hear the news about the passing of Stephen Lewis. He was a trailblazer, a human rights activist, and an unapologetic democratic socialist who spent his whole life trying to build a better world for all.

Alongside tax breaks to corporate landlords and private jet owners, Carney’s Liberals have repeatedly violated the constitutionally-protected right to strike when workers stood up for liveable wages and safe working conditions.
I know Canada’s electorate is mainly focused on the economy right now, but the abject failure of the Carney government to offer even token support for international law should be a real black eye. A complete abandonment of Canadian values at a critical moment in global history.
