it's pretty appalling how little attention is paid to the quality and messaging of children's programming, let alone the ads. PBS is one of the few reliable sources for generally decent shows.

Casar making the clearest case of the hearing against the privatization of kids public programming, saying YouTube programming for kids is "loaded with ads," and kids TV on cable is aimed first at "selling you and your kids' stuff...they're trying to make a profit off of you."
