Cheat code for creatives: if you let your personal sadness and genuine soul-deep horniness into your art, it's pretty much immune to being co-opted by modern fascists, who focus mainly on selling a wholesome heartland that they can use as an excuse for violence they'll label as glory.

This misses the mark by such a breathtakingly wide margin that I'm tempted to be like, Did we even read the same version of The Crow. But given that there are at least four different published iterations of the damn thing by now, the answer is no, we probably didn't. www.tcj.com/clown-logic-...

We’ve been doing PVD Horror screenings for 8 years (Damn, that’s crazy). But last night was fun and a special screening. Waxwork was my first horror film as a kid that turned me into a horror junkie. Thanks to everyone coming out and making these events special. See you all next month.

The history of eroguro is fascinating. It was originally protest art against conservative censorship in Japan towards pornography. The obscenity was the point, because censorship is inherently a right wing ideology. And yet… people have put a progressive twist on censorship as history revisionism.
