Last few days of vacations already! It was cool to lay low and relax for a few weeks, but stay tune for more Neo Bananas content in the following weeks as I'm preparing my Steam Next Fest demo! I aim to publish it early October. #godot #indiedev #steamnextfest
What's the point of people leaking and spoiling everything there will be in the Nintendo Direct ahead of time? It ruins the joy of watching for everyone. It's like if I go to your home on December 23rd and tell your kids exactly what they will unwrap for Christmas in 2 days. It kills the magic.
At what point did we start normalizing listening to your phone on speakers in public places with the volume bursting? What happened to headphones? Why don't people feel bad for disturbing others nearby? Nobody want to listen to your tiktoks or your phone calls, come on!
So relatable 😆 Hey, even though it feels like nobody will buy this piece of shit, at least I can say I made a fully handcrafted game with no AI slop in it, that's a win in my book!
Feeling in the bottom right now... #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #puzzlegame #NOKOMA
I made a little template for use by cool small businesses! Enjoy!
My time at #Gamescom made me realize how saturated the game industry became. Seeing thousands of great games side by side and knowing that many of them won't make a profit, it's heartbreaking. That's why I want to make smaller byte-size games to lower the risk and experiment with more genres.
Just finished my week at #Gamescom I played up to 50-60 indie games over the last 3 days. Everybody were so fun to talk to (and extremely passionate). From student projects to mid-budget indies, there's something for everyone! Here are my 5 favorite games from the event (no order):
Indie game dev tip: Do stupid/silly stuff. Players love stupid stuff.
Don't know if it has been officially shared somewhere, but if you're going to Gamescom next week, I found out there's a Godot meetup on Thursday! I'm super excited to talk to fellow #godot developers! 💙 luma.com/s4s0hjke?tk=...

Location: Outdoor Area in the Boulevard outside Hall 10.2 (Indie Arena) A gathering for Godot (and Godot curious) developers and community to meet and hangout.…

I'm looking at all the #gamescom after-hour events. Lots of invite-only and bigger companies organizing stuff, what about smaller meetups, smaller network events, spontaneous get-together's? Any that I should be aware of? Anyone interested in a Godot meetup?
I'm in a perpetual state of "the game I'm making isn't good enough to show yet" So I'm sorry to the 7 people actually interested by what I'm making, my brain decided it's not ready 🤷♂️
Extremely proud of the work we did on the ports of @househouse.com ’s latest title: Big Walk! An incredible adventure to share with your friends. Go check it out! 🤩
🔴🟡🔵 BIG WALK 🔴🟡🔵 Out now on Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. Hooray!
On one hand, the title seems condescending. Indies shouldn't aim for GOTY status to be taken seriously. The article, on the other hand, was very interesting. I agree 100% that games should be more creative and focused instead of safe all-around. Be wild, be risky and be yourself.
We need games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Balatro, and Peak as a cure for the "fear" in the industry, say experts www.gamesradar.com/games/we-nee...
If I'd run my own social media, I'd enforce a rule where you can only post once every week. You have to save your most important thought for that specific post. Nobody would want that, people are wired to share 47 useless thoughts every hour, but I think it would make a more interesting feed.
Pretty happy with my results for the #GMTK 2026. "Enjoyment" was the category that was the most important when making the game and finishing #273 out of 10,600 games means a lot! Also a huge thank you to ZerolagGaming for the fire OST!
Some early entries from the #GMTKJam look like games that have been in development for years. How?!! I'm genuinely impressed by how much some developers / studios perform in 4 days. It's mind blowing.
My entry for the #GMTK gamejam! vidvadgames.itch.io/digigrader Deck-building arcade shoot 'em up where you fire a hand of bullets. When your hand is empty, you apply unique card effects to each bullets and resume fighting! A mix between a StS x Gradius!

My takeaway so far for the #GMTK jam is that 4 days is too short for me. My concept has potentiel, but I would need 2-3 extra days to add content, visuals and polish It's a deck-building shoot 'em up where you fire your 10 bullets from higher damage to lower. You upgrade / add effects between hands
Crazy to me that kids won't ever experience the joy of unwrapping a video game at Christmas anymore. Your mom wouldn't let you play yet, but you opened the box, read the booklet, imagine yourself playing. Then, you put the cart in the SNES and the full game boots up right away. What a feeling!
When I hear "the gaming industry sucks", 99% of the time people refer to AAA studios and multi-billion dollar companies. Meanwhile, there's a huge ecosystem of indie developers and alternative platforms to play games on. You can still directly encourage the devs & artists.
Nightmares As a kid : a fantastical beast is chasing me into the abyss. As an adult : I'm late to a class, I forgot my notes, my bag, my clothes and people are laughing at me. I haven't had a class in 15 years.
My next indie game started development 6 months ago as a mass appeal hommage to Smash's Break the Target mini game. For the last few weeks I redesigned most of it and turned it into an ultra niche speedrun-oriented combo-based precise platformer that will probably appeal to only 3 other people 🤷
Is this becoming the Steam Slop Fest? I'm scrolling through the demos right now with the random exploration algorithm and this is depressing.
The demo for #Prerolled is out on Steam!!!! It's a silly game where you overcharge clients selling dice boxes (and they love it)! It's very chill, satisfying and rewarding! store.steampowered.com/app/4476380/... #GameDev #IndieDev #VideoGame #Demo #GodotEngine
3 years of sailing the gamedev seas! A massive thanks to our crew and the studios trusting us to bring their projects safely to port. We’re setting sail for Year 4 with even more epic projects in the works!
