One of the toughest parts of having a real seat is constantly putting on and maintain risk Strats like me have the luxury of picking and choosing like 5 trades a year at opportune moments which isn’t the game being played on the other side
A lot of this seems to be about choices. We chose to do less in some areas and a lot more in others?
The @stephenkb.bsky.social column this week is a deeply necessary, clear counter to most of the discourse on the future for tax and spend for the British state. There are three options - there's no point in pussyfooting around with myths and not opting for one of them. www.ft.com/content/9102...
What are some shows that hold up v well over time? For example: only fools and horses. Still hilarious
Let me get this straight, Trump gets his ass handed to him in historic fashion by Iran and his next move is to… checks notes… suck up to North Korea??
Pretty crappy article. terra and luna aren’t OAI’s flagship model. For opus, input token costs haven’t changed since 4.5 $5 per per 1mn input tokens and fable 5 is $10 So why is opus 5 being half price relevant? Basic research would help the

Hyperscaler roi is now sorted - so in theory we could start getting bubble over time.
I, like others am nervous about this acceleration in semis becoming bubbleicious, but I always thought it would come once Hyperscaler roi fears are put to rest Instead, what we are getting is more confidence big capex will continue, but those doubts eg Google remain.

my 2c: It’s genuinely really hard to trace back any of Japan’s fx weakness to its fiscal position. You can trace back to monetary but even there the explanation is incomplete. Japan’s nisa flows and corporate outbound FDI activity are far better drivers. On latter fiscal actually helps not hurts!
Arguably it hinges on more than alignment. The prime minister is set on a course of action fiscally that has eroded confidence in the currency. Absent changing that, hard to see how the yen doesn't resume its slide the moment this intervention ends.
I haven’t read the hyperscaler reports yet, but what is it about the revenues now, aside from just valuation and positioning that is encouraging investors now? Is it services like bedrock and azure foundry? Or further acceleration in cloud as backlogs come to fruition
Took profit on snowflake, one of my best trades but sized completely wrong
I don’t think it’s fair to say this was all Leopold given even non AI stuff was falling - like space basket has absolutely shit the bed.
Not a fan of Mann. Not because I don’t think a hike is wrong - it could be fine - but her flip flopping isn’t helpful. What is her framework beyond fading marker pricing
Having not done training at a large investment bank is both a blessing and a curse for me I’ve missed out on years of training (amazing primers, exposure etc) and experience but gained different experience and hopefully a different way of thinking. Random comment from seeing some of the primers
It’s very funny when you go from medium reasoning to high or extra high for a task/ query and the quality of output deteriorates.
Does anyone here have a good sense of why Us defence systems have struggled so much with Iranian drones and missiles? Stuff seems to be getting through every day and hitting targets
