My opinion on whether being creative is worthwhile is modulated by the exact same LFO that wobbles my self-esteem up and down 5 or 6 times a day

The jury has begun to weigh in. I find that I don't like the sounds I get with Bitwig's stock plugins and I think its sequencer workflow is confusing. It's probably pretty powerful or something but I straight up think I'd just have more fun using Reaper and Cardinal

How does one learn mixing and mastering? I have something in the works and I think it's fine compositionally but it feels super flat compared to what I listen to and I think I need a refresher on the basics

I remember hearing about the "mere exposure" effect and how people only like pop music because it's being played everywhere and it grows on you what a fucking sad way to view art lmao. I promise you whatever hipster wrote that take has some favorite thing that they say is an "acquired taste"

At the part of the process in which I remember that songwriting and arranging are two separate skills and I now need to do a bunch of arranging lol

Oh someone asked so just a heads up that Pocket Dimensions is released under CC-BY-4.0 so your only obligation if you want to use any of the tracks in something is to credit me and preferably link back to my socials.

shoutout to anyone who had to teach themselves their art btw for real, if you manage to get good at an art through trial and error without the kind of support and education that would normally enable that growth, that is a testament to your passion. it is not an easy thing to do what you have done.

If your melody isn't landing hard on dissonant chord extensions what the hell are you even doing (What you're doing is writing melodies that feel very grounded in the harmony which can also be a very cool effect) fuck the nuance demon possessed me again I'm so bad at twitter

Thinking about how unavoidable LLM slopcode is these days and am sorely tempted to just take a sledgehammer to all my computing devices and become a luddite

Okay so yes it turns out "Shibuya" by Covet *is* as hard as it looks and yvette young *is* a virtuoso guitarist and I'm not gonna learn this thing overnight lmao I mean I knew all of that but like. Guh.

Kinda struggling to get a 2xLSDJ setup going on my steam deck and all my computers are Linux too just weird behavior with the controller setup and lag with the link that makes it annoying to write for might only be possible to do if I get two real game boys but that's expensive :(

Okay I have a weird project I wanna work on and it would require an audio ADC. But all of the affordable ones appear to be surface-mount. So uh, does anyone have any advice for SMD soldering?
