I'm going to say something that sounds like a booster (forgive me @edzitron.com). Any cybersecurity expert could tell you what modern AI does: it's a system that relentlessly, adaptively tests backdoors for human mistakes. From a DoD perspective, that's god tech.

Watching all the small local medical practices getting eaten up by the Coke and Pepsi style healthcare companies radicalize the small mom and pop pharmacies isn’t the beacon of hope I expected, but I’ll take any light I can see by.

Living in an economy that is stretching poor, working, elderly, and underserved people (imagine a vent diagram here folks) is just taking it out of me. Took a second to take this shot while on the phone with my partner. It was the first time I’d felt a moment of peace all day.

Can’t believe July is almost over. This year has already been a roller coaster. It’s a confusing mess of really hard, really wonderful, and “how is it already Friday/Monday” again!?!

Michelle and I loved reading to this bright group of kids today! We hope this new Chicago Public Library branch at the Obama Presidential Center will be a place where folks come to read, check out books, and connect with one another for years to come.

We're experiencing a strangely cool May here in western MA, but the flags are blooming all the same--accompanied by the cheerful warblings of our friendly neighborhood catbird & the plangent tones of a woodthrush out back. Time to get out for a trail run before the light fades too much. #AmRunning
