The only result will be that we will get intrusive age checks for everyone – challenging privacy and increasing complexity. Kids will still be on social media but wince they are only so undercover we will no longer be able to check on their wellbeing there or mitigate the harmfulness.

You would think that all of these people pushing for social media bans for kids would be interested in whether or not these bans actually work...but no, I guarantee we will keep on seeing age-gating bills. theconversation.com/more-than-80...

Servo now passes 100% of WPT tests for the WebCrypto API, all 73,292 subtests, covering 25 cryptographic algorithms 🎉 A complete, spec-correct cryptography implementation in an independent Rust-powered browser engine is a big milestone!

Made a new release of my output styler that makes it easier to build eg. a CLI that supports both colorful ansi output and markdown output (the latter is extra good when copying to eg. GitHub issues or such): github.com/voxpelli/mar... Will eventually rename it and add HTML as an additional output

Servo's collective has 555 contributors as of today. Imagine if many tech/tech adjacent companies interested in the web all decided to carry a bit of that load and tried to change the governance model of what it means to be a web engine... It could be really interesting. opencollective.com/servo

Thanks for highlighting this @voxpelli.com as Mojeek remains the only sovereign search engine in Europe with zero dependency on Big Tech and their ad networks. We do however appreciate @waterfox.net needs funding and hopefully Qwant will become less dependent on US tech and money over time.

Found a Mastodon client I liked. Wished it supported Bluesky. Now it does, with about 30 minutes of effort on my part. The individualistic liberty of *libre* software has never been more real. But individualism has upsides and downsides.
