I’m actually very easygoing and chill so shut up Los Angeles, he/him, bald
I guess I’m not surprised but man the right wing burrito discourse spread to bluesky so easily. All it took was 4 screenshots. OP wasn’t even taking part, it’s like it was transmitted here through a passive carrier host.
for reasons that only make sense if you're insane, a TPUSA kid complaining about burrito costs on xitter has the GOP's biggest divas going for each other's throats.
Have we decided yet if the economy is good mixed with bad or bad mixed with good?
According to my 70-something parents, car tires. They were talking about how flat tires used to be a much more present concern in life.
Food, man. Food is so much better than it was in 1986. All of it. Poor-people food, restaurant food, fresh food, frozen food. Food is just a hell of a lot better.
My wife has been sending me reactions from romance social media, and wow
First look at Alexander Skarsgård as the wicker husband in ‘WICKER’. The film follows a lonely fisherwoman who asks a local basket maker to weave her the perfect husband out of wicker. #Wicker #AlexanderSkarsgård
This is true but it only makes me madder that they keep on trying to sell me so many different kinds of bland mush anyway, when we both know they can make good food if they want
I'm going to foment controversy here. Quite a lot of British food is genuinely rather nice, and a good sticky toffee pudding is exceptionally nice.
Every time I post about politics is a failure of self control
I have once again lost control and gone on an English major rant in the mentions of someone who didn’t ask. Sorry @thisbrokenwheel.bsky.social. I blacked out and next thing I knew my phone was at 2%, the sun was setting, and I hadn’t eaten in 14 hours.
It’s a very old writing structure you don’t see much anymore. Basically every Shakespeare play works that way. Someone does something that changes the social order in some fundamentally “wrong” way, and which results in everyone chaffing and jostling with each other over it until it’s corrected.
Big fan of this band and this song but I did not expect to hear a crowd singing along with every word like that

But tiktok also shows me things like this so I can never stay mad at it for long
Bluesky gets pretty out there but it still can’t hold a candle to tiktok for unhinged political takes. This week I saw someone get dogpiled for saying that cheating isn’t sexual assault. People were calling for anti-cheating legislation and everything.

the first 10 times this came across my feed, I stopped at "neoliberal", assumed it was talking about some other EDM I wasn't familiar with, and kept scrolling I cannot believe it was, in fact, talking about Electronic Dance Music
Had jury duty today and came really close to getting selected for a long trial, but I got dismissed in the final round. So to celebrate I walked from the courthouse to the Bradbury Building (which I always think of as the Blade Runner building) and took some pictures.
I love the people still gaming at the other tables.
Tornado Warning and Water pouring from the roof at Gen Con! 😱😱😱 Please everyone stay safe ❤️🔥
This is the same energy as the flight attendant who deployed the emergency slide (on the ground), grabbed two beers, and jumped. Kings among men.
in insane local news, the 26 year old director of a rocky horror production was arrested for sending threatening messages to himself in order to get the play shut down bc he didn’t want to deal with cast drama www.mynbc5.com/article/rock...
Modern adhesives are underrated as great inventions of the 20th century. What woodworkers had to deal with before modern wood glue showed up sounds absolutely miserable. Smelly glue made from horses that had to be applied boiling hot, and didn’t even hold that well.
to get good durability prior to the goodyear welt, you'd need to shell out extra for a good pair with a norwegian welt. so now with modern adhesives you can get something just as waterproof for waaaay less money
The absolute funniest thing about The Prisoner is how mad the village makes him. Every week they’re sending marching bands and organizing their weird little tea parties and every week he takes one look at it and goes “FUUUCK YOUUUU”
Whatever you do don’t take me to The Island from The Prisoner! I’d hate to live in a cool rent free apartment full of bold late 60s modern furniture haha noooo a bubble don’t chase me haha
Also of note/perpendicular: Dylan's "Jokerman" & Prince's "Partyman", about The Joker.
Coffee beans. I’ll take a basic grocery store brand dark roast beans over the weird fruit-tasting high end beans always.
What is your favorite example of when the cheap version of a product is legit better than the expensive one?
One of my favorite facts about my childhood is that I recognized the presence of visual floaters young enough to have no idea they were common and had a mundane explanation. So secretly, from the age of 6 until maybe 9, I thought I was a superhero with the power to see bacteria.
The mediocre team fan experience is far better than the juggernaut fan experience bc people can afford to go to the games and just have fun. This message brought to you by a Mariners fan living next to Dodgers Stadium.
I went to SpongeBob night at Angel Stadium this week and the crowd organically started chanting “SPONGE Bob SQUARE pants” around the 6th inning. (Angels lost 6 to 2)
As someone who is like 5% interested in sports, my approach to Los Angeles sports teams is to become a fan of whichever team is the worst at the time and therefore has the cheapest tickets. A few years ago it was the Clippers, looks like now it’s the Angels.

Like I say every time, the health inspector in Ratatouille, because those rats need to stop
Name a villain who was actually right.
I love when spiders make their webs in front of webcams.
